I listen to a wide variety of music as well, but their is a common denominator. Everything I listen to is music based on musicians with chops on their instruments. No trendy BS, catchy throw aways or any of that shit. If I listen to it the player has spent hours a day for years practicing. Of course that means it is a lot of jam oriented music like Jazz, but there are some categories of Rock where this still fits.

Give me a pandora chan to create. I love jazz etc, I just don't know the name of one artist.

I have no idea. Who are some artists that are really distinct in a certain style? I played the sax and my teacher in elementary would just give me stuff to play and I would play.

Miles Davis and John McLaughlin come to mind. I prefer fusion more than a traditional jazz, though.

I get down to the big band vibe quite a bit.

Two major problems. The first being Pandora's jazz collection sucks, 2nd being there are huge differences in styles. Try John Coltrane first. And then describe what you don't like about it if that's the case. Arguably the best saxophonist EVAR and by a lot. Something about practicing 8 hours a day every day of your life nearly does that to you though.
