They are more efficient than a supercharger due to that, but just putting a turbo on won't increase mileage. You may get an increase due to the increased efficiency of the exhaust as most turbo exhaust systems are larger by nature and the turbine helps to increase velocity of the exhaust gasses. That would be where your increase would come from. Of course, once you get into the boost, that goes out the window and the computer begins to dump fuel.

Right now its 95F, 52% humidity, dew point 75F, ~107F heat index...and it just might rain...

If running at 24mph you use the supercharger and the prop to make it so that you turn 3500rpm with the s/c and 4500rpm with the n/a with the only changes being the tune and the boost wouldn't you expect the s/c application to use less gas?

24 isn't super arbitrary as it is the sweet spot for fuel economy on my hull

No because I know how hungry boosted vehicles are. Granted it may be different on water. That's a whole different animal, tune, and drag, so I may be wrong, but with a vehicle, if you are into the boost, you are using up a lot of fuel. Keep in mind you are forcing air in and compressing it where as the NA can only suck air in. The more air you have, the more fuel you need, so the blower is always going to need more fuel and a lot more.

Probably asking something dumb but why does it seam that all my friends report better mileage after addind turbo to their vehicles. By all my friends I mean 2. In truth my buddy and his dad. He slapped on boost to his 5.0, and their old pickup. In both cases he claimed superior to 10% mileage. The truck more than the car however the truck was in truth not at all street legal and was only getting 7ish before the FI.

The turbo will only work under load and I'm sure you know how it works, with a turbo you have more control and can limp around like normal without ever getting into the boost, so you fuel consumption is just about the same.

That's a good thing to take advantage of...

After removing the muffler I can easily ride around town at 40 in 5th gear. Cruising at 1200 rpm = good mileage :D

Any thoughts on the Western Digital TV media players? I wanted something to play movies etc onto my tv via a thumb drive or external hard drive. Similar to what I do with my PS3 on a different tv. I found one like this on CL for $60. Is there a better option I should be looking into?

You have to also take into account that, like Ryan said before, the boosted engine has more fuel. So more RPMs don't necessarily mean more fuel. Not saying that it does or doesn't but it's something to consider.

The best for a turbo is a short, wide open down pipe.

Does the hide add dee beez? I tried that with buckskin before but I only got enough hide to cover the grill and bumper.

Got the upgraded ECU installed. Apparently something else was installed when I was not looking yesterday, torque steer.
