Sushi, here I come!

Audi has set some pretty aggressive weight-cutting targets for its future line, according to Car and Driver. The German manufacturer has said that each of its model successors will be lighter than their current iterations thanks to a greater use of aluminum in their body structures. That includes the big boy Q7 crossover, which, according to global marketing head-honcho Peter Schwarzenbauer, may shed as much as 770 pounds before the next generation gets its unveiling. That's an eye-widening figure, to be sure, as it marks a 14 percent cut from the curb weight of the current car.

Took Dad's '65 Imperial Crown convertible to storage today. I really like that car

Further worsening the problem if you were ever to get into a wreck and body shops not knowing or have the tools to work with aluminum.

The little man sure is getting big. :)

Funny. He's really small surprisingly. In the 20% in height/weight, although he's in the 90% for head size. Obviously all brains.

His little "baby" brother however is rapidly gaining on him. 4mo 17.5lbs 27", 2yr 4mo 26lb ~34"

LOL looks like a fun part of the show.

Guess we will see. Are you going to be close to home this October J?

I won't be home until after Halloween unfortunatly. Hopefully October 2012 I will easily be able to come home.

They'll make the aluminum parts replaceable. It's not cost-effective to bond them or weld them unless they do like Aston and Ferrari and charge out the ass. All the aluminum parts will be bolt-on and replaceable. Trust me, they actually do think about replacement parts. After the sale, that's another huge business for them.

I have personally seen a few wrecked A8's, and it was a large task to fix.

Come on FRIDAY!

Holy crap I know.

The A8 is an $80K vehicle though...

Yes, but the way one of them was mangled (in terms of the aluminum), the rebuild job looked like it was on the TOTALED scale when only the front corner was really damaged.

If I trusted Audi, reliability wise better, an A4 or A3 set of keys would be in my hand right now. An A3 would be about perfect for me right now, with more power and AWD, that covers the two things lacking in my current scooter.

The new Hyundai Accent is wicked, IMO
