Got a hot chip off the mill burn into the skin under my left eye right on the cheekbone yesterday afternoon, had a couple people ask if I got in a fight.

Yep, I wear glasses for everything, had to many times when I've been thankful for glasses to not wear them.

I tuck my shirt in all the time and had brass fall down and get stuck, that sucks.

Learned that lesson the hard way in high school. Now I always have a skull cap, safety glasses (preferably the foam sealed kind) and a face shield as a minimum when using grinders, plasma cutters or torches.

Yep, I wear glasses for everything, had to many times when I've been thankful for glasses to not wear them.

I used to wear glasses and while torching some sign posts one day, some molten steal came in over the top, landed in my eye and melted my contact to my eyeball. Now how the hell that got in there, I can not imagine, but it was one of those things that just happened. The doctor said the contact lens saved my eye. I can't imagine how it didn't burn through, but they had to put some shit in my eye to loosen the contact, then some dye to check for damage. Between that shit, and the blister on the back of my eyelid, I didn't sleep for damn near a week. Now I wear goggles and a face shield at all times even if I'm doing something as trivial as removing caulk. You just never know.

The grinder has taught me a many lessons. I respect the grinder or any power tool for that matter.
