I have yet to find anything short of a welding jacket to be mosquito proof. Bug spray with a high DEET concentration is your best defense.

and in TX 2 dozen bites means you'd be completely drained of blood

+1 on mosquitoes getting through anything. I did a camping trip in the height of bug season two years ago and even with a flannel and TWO bug net shirts my arms still looked diseased from all the bumps.

Worst camping ever.

Verizon will be requiring that you switch to a tiered plan if you plan on buying a device at the subsidized price. If you buy phones at full retail you can continue to keep your plan.

For the global usage, you should be able to get on of the phones and switch out the SIM card and use a pre-pay plan or something while in the other countries. That should allow you to not use a Verizon global plan. I'm just guessing on that though.

The problem with the SIM card switch is the phone number will no longer answer. Personally I like the unlimited data plan as I can use my phone as a hotspot for my pc/tablet and pretty much get anything done I need. Voice quality over skype that was isn't so good, but if it were 4g I'd bet it'd be fine.

Do they have a date when they won't do that? They told me last week we are grandfathered...
