I wouldn't go that far. 5 band parametric EQ throws that down the drain, and it's not like Clarion has any processor to add on either. It is probably the most versatile HU available though. IF that 5 bands is all you need, then you get several components all in a single DIN chassis.

hot rod, the original tranny is long gone (it was a 3 on the tree, but they couldn't get those trannies anymore so they replaced it with a 4 on the floor) so it wouldn't even be a #'s matching I6 car <--- *yawn*

I have been in hundreds of companies and can tell you that there are types like you having fun in engineering. I surely can't say the same for a lot of desk jobs. Keep your head up and start to look for industries that you have an interest in. Something will fall in your lap.
