to all you bicycle people, i need advice, my 20year old ross bike has something screwy with it so i figure it's time for a new bike. It'll mainly just be for riding to and from class. Not wanting to spend more than $300 and the less the better. Probably just end up with a wal-mart special but figured i should get your opinions first.

You can get a hell of a great bike for $300, I'd just look for something older with Deore XT derailleurs and components. Something that was $1500 in the late 90's should be in your price range now and can be nearly as sweet as the new stuff just a lb heavier or so.

The Fi stuff is maddening, the Rli8 thread is being exposed for what it is will be deleted and ramifications applied to those who are posting in it inappropriately. To me, I just can't stand when someone is two faced and will continue to call them out on it.

I am off to go look at new Rangers. Got wood for a 520 or 522 to knock down some of the waves that throw my 18'er around. Curious to hear what the stealer has to say even though I will buy an older one :D

Just got a bicycle :D

2007 Trek 6000

bad ass dennis. Pics of said bike or ban? ^_^

Just took a 20 mile ride on it. Found a nice nature park and there was randomly a dirt half pipe and ramps there.

There should be a pic below, not sure if it's working.

ahh, such a cute little frame.

Nice work mang!

Stupid Ranger dealership moved, so I test drove an 02 C5 Vette Convert instead. The low end torque was nice, but compared to my car it handled like crap and felt like a frickin' boat. Top end the engine just peters out as well. Not really meant as a drivers vehicle. Been a few years since I have been behind the wheel of the C5, will be a while again before it re-occurs.

You should have seen a look at the sales managers face when I told him it handled like a boat and was noisy and unrefined compared to my 17 year old Bm'er. Needless to say they let me leave fairly quickly without pestering me about a purchase. Almost drove the Trailblazer SS while I was there as well as with a few underhood tricks that could be a fun truck as well.

I knew what it was, but should have clarified as I am curious as to how you picked something so specific.

Just really thing only thing that interests me in a hospital environment. Plus I could work at a clinic or something of that nature. We'll see how it goes, I'll see if I actually like it after a year or so.

Yeah I just read the RL-i8 thread and denim I must say that was a needed post. Way to stand up d00d. Oh and for the record, I call this place home more than any other forum. Ca.com is just a place to goof around, my knowledge comes from here and others...not ca.com.

Guy at the local bike place actually mocked me today. Amazes me that people can be such dicks and still do any business. I was extremely tempted to ride up the road to the trek place and put the most expensive bike they had on my CC just to ride it back down to the other place and tell off the a$$hole. But i don't want to spend $2k on a bike.
