What type/style of custom speakers do YOU guys think would sell best in a college town? I'm strongly looking at just starting to build and sell for some extra money and curious as to what you guys think would be the best direction to point.

Loud and cheap. If they look cool and not homemade that would help as well.

It snowed here for the first time this winter yesterday, so I decided to take the old car out for a spin to test out the new tires. The new tires made a HUGE difference in traction as I would normally spin in the snow unless I started in 3rd and you could absolutely forget about starting on a hill w/ the old tires in the snow. The new tires, the only time I could spin them was when I wanted to.

Tires are the best thing you can do for any vehicle to make them handle better for any condition.

Military guys quite often are like that too.

It helps if u make them so they will work on some of these chit low powered home systems too.

Make sure the bass is STRONG

most of them have no clue as to SQ (not that I have a huge one myself LOL)

Possibly using something like a 10/12" and a horn in a floor standing type using PA drivers, high effiency, tuned ~50ish or so. High efficiency, should be fairly loud, and have decent bass?

The one problem I see with PA-type designs is that they're big. Hoffman's Iron Law, sure, but we're like a Mongolian horde that descends on a town and packs up just as quickly.

If it was me, a loud set of three-way bookshelf monitors would be the perfect dorm speakers, as well as being apartment party 'peekas. Maybe something along the lines of a Klipsch Heresy with better crossovers and without the squeaky Tractrix midrange horn. But the Heresy does what every college student wants...

found some deep cycles.

pretty cheap compared to the big-name brands and pretty strong. maybe i'll upgrade the battery in the heep to withstand the whopping 550w rms total system power

The lower line Mercedes are maintenance nightmares, I wouldn't buy a benz right now if someone gave it to me.

Neither are optimal if they come with z speed tires. In fact they suck then, with a good set of snows the 3 series in particular is outstanding and a hoot to drive.

Fucking retards running the internet for the rooms here have throttled port 80... so webpages don't load well at all... but you can download at over 1mb/s on the T1. No brains included.

That is sort of an oxymoron, unless the bass bin portion was truly just that.
