My Uncle works for IBM so I'm going to see what he can get me for under 2k, min of 2gig of ram, 7200rpm HD, dual core, and the biggest warranty I can get.

2,300 will get me exactly what I want without any kind of employee discount so I wonder what I can get it for with the discount...

I didn't think anything more than 2GB of RAM worked on XP...pretty sure you have to upgrade to Vista to use that extra 1GB.

Could be wrong, though.
