Ok...so i work at A-Reliable, we were bought out last year by LKQ which is world wide and well known in the automotive market. We were contacted by Toyota about a week ago and they are paying us 49.9 million dollars to do this for them, they are buying us all sorts of new equipment and supplies to get them this done as soon as possible and as fast and quietly as possible. I just had to share!

Toyota has chosen our company to do the procedures, Toyota has recalled every Tacoma produced from 1995 til present date, they are buying back the trucks from dealers, private owners, auto rebuilders, etc and destroying all of them. They are trying to keep this as quiet as possible, we will be receiving over 125,000 of these truck which will be spread over the entire US to all of the other LKQ yards and our included, we started getting a few in today, there are expected to be about 10,000 coming to our yard and we have 24 hours of the drop of date, to photograph them, drain them, crush them and photograph them again.

They are all being recalled, 4x2's 4x4's, extended cabs, regular cabs, all engine sizes, etc...the frame are rusting out completely on all of them, you can contact you local dealer about having

Toyota buy your truck back for what we have heard is a very decent fair market value for helping in getting them off the road.

Our yard manager picked the first one up to place it in the crusher and it buckled under its own weight...to show you guys who own these or know people still driving them what happens to them and why they are recalling them:

Have a decent amount of time tied up into building a new amp rack.

And now that about all that is left is building a beauty panel/cover for the amps......I'm not sure how happy I actually am with the design.

Debating starting over.

Blows.

I need some smaller fucking smaller amps :( Would go w/ PDX's but I really don't want to spend $1k+ on fucking amps.

that sucks. hate it when i get all but completed and then have to scrap it. starting over is a bitch.

The only part of my vehicle that still shines are the wheels, so usually I'm just content with getting the worst of the bugs off :D

i wish!! that would be great. would sure make things quicker!

I would actually say it isn't mighty big of them. They have known about the issue for a while, but just realized now if they don't do just buy them back the lawsuits will cost them WAY more than doing the buybacks. It would have been mighty big if they did this a long time ago, but that isn't the Japanese way.

Toyota and Nissan seem to pretend they never have any recalls. I think it is partially a shame thing, but both companies have been pulling this shady under the radar recalls. Not very cool.

Hell, nothing shines on my vehicle, its got the infamous early '90's Chevy paint job that falls off. :)

Works out pretty well though, only a guy who does manual labor would drive a truck that looks like mine... There have been times I stopped in a town to look at a skid steer some place was selling, guy comes out without saying anything else he tosses me the keys and tells me to take it for a spin. :)

Mmmmmmmmmm, the poly is really starting to pop....

its interesting.........god today is boring
