I was actually talking about the newer CTS, there is just a shit-ton of random buttons and crap

Didn't realize that was a Charger and I know you were making the opposite point. My comment was more on the lines. The older CTS dash doesn't look like a modern car, all hard edges. Even the door arm rests look like 1960.

i can't believe i've actually gotten in the habit of getting up early, this is crazy. I NEVER get up early and now i'm going to bed at like 9pm on average (~6 last night) and up at 6-6:30 every morning.

I just got an email asking me about the table... it came after I left for a meeting last night.

Sean, you know I am biased towards the E55. But if you want, the prior gen E55 has been proven to be just about bullet proof and can be had for about 25-28k, but it does not have as much body work to set it apart from a standard E500. Also, had you considered a used 540i or the up coming 335D?

I still want a '93 500E, pretty much an E55 with out an AMG badge on the back. :)

Many say the 500E handles better than the E55, but jeez they are almost the same money.

I know the previous generation E55 without the supercharger is a lot more reliable and a better choice, but visually the car doesn't excite me. The 03+ completely makes me drool, inside and out.

As for the AMG badge, it doesn't do anything for me either. I would actually probably de-badge the car as I surely "don't need no stinking badges"

I drove the 335 (not the D) but nonetheless I am completely and utterly not interested. BM'er has taken a huge crap the past 5 years and just refuses to make anything that stirs the soul anymore. Boring on the inside and the out :( It hurts me to say it, but it is true. I'd actually rather have the Lexus ISF than the M3 and I will NOT own a Japanese car.

Anyway, was saying something along the lines of there are a few things you can do to juice up the elder E55. And for me and the 500E, is motor envy and love of the old world MB's that were not quite Americanized yet. So what about a pre-Bangle 540i, that could be found for your range and it is older then 5 years.

Regrettably the 4.0L V8 that BMW makes is a wreck.

I'll go look at an older E55, but I am not sure what I gain over my current ride.

Too many miles, but it is at the stealership where the 2005 E55 that I am going to drive is so I will peak at it.

My other issue with age is that work is leasing me the car...although if I find something I really love that is older I can get out of that and have them give me some cash.

They sound good there, although they would benefit from being more on axis.

My issue is this would be strictly mids, midbass would be in the doors and tweet probably in the a-pillar

I have had 2 different sales people looking for me for an 04+ E55.

The Fiyachicken took its maiden voyage yesterday. Just to the alignment shop and back.
