It is hard to beat a Mark II/III as a starter pistol, a big thing is that with a .22 you won't develop a (or much of one) flinch. For defense, anything is better than nothing... Is there anywhere you can take a few classes to learn the basics? You can never have to much training, period.

im not sure but i will look around

I would try a 9-mil for a first, or a glock 40

whats up hop!

how everybody doing

For home defense, you just can't beat a shotgun... For learning to shoot a pistol, it is hard to beat a ruger mk II/III pistol, they are cheap, pretty accurate, and work well. With a pistol and a set of sandbags you can learn a lot about trigger control.

which is why i keep my remington 870 behind my bed with 00 buckshot close by while my .357 mag sits in it's lock box. when it comes to protecting myself and my house i'm far more comfortable with a shotgun than trying to load and operate a handgun in the dark or when adrenaline's pumping. the sound of a shotgun slide will scare off 99% of thieves anyways, the other 1% just want to get scraped off the ground by a coroner.

we'll check back on that in about 5 or 6 years :)

I still cant believe this whole week will be in the low 80s for being winter in January.

Our seasonal average is high enough for this time of year, which is 12-15`F below that.

Never mentioned it because I was so disappointed, but the fiberglass panels for the Z are an epic fail. The door panel insets into that hole a bit and at the moment I can't get the door panels on..... going to try to do some work this weekend
