Exam scheduled for Monday. Tomorrow scheduled for a new set of rubber on the sled. I sadly could not afford the Yoko's I wanted, breaking my streak of 4 straight sets of Yoko's, so I am going to give the Flaken's a go.

i have to warn you aaron, falkens have the worst durability of any tire i've ever used. i've had 3 sets, 3 different cars, 3 different applications and all lasted only 25-50% of their treadwear rating, and i drive very conservatively. based on my personal experience and after working over a year in a tire shop (i know it's kind of embarassing) i still prefer michelins. i have also had very good luck with toyos for performance and BFGs for durability. if you're really strapped for cash go with cum-hoes (kumho). before you have the falkens installed go physically inspect a falken tire next to the comparable michelin or bfg, i can make a pretzel out of falkens with my hands. try twisting up a michelin pilot sport or toyo RA1 with your hands and you will know what i mean.

Now you tell me after the tire shop orders them.

seriously though, when the tires get in i would ask to manhandle them a little before they mount them, then manhandle some of the other brand tires and you will see what i mean. the sidewalls on falkens are a joke, whereas the pilot sports feel like steel when you try bend them. you can really tell the difference when you mount them on rims, sometimes it would take two or three guys to get the bead of a pilot sport over the lip of a wheel.

those are good tires as well, my cousin just put them on his s500 coupe and it rides like a magic carpet. not quite the performance of the summer tires but cannot be beat for durability and ride comfort from a performance tire. i like the bfg's sean and ryan are suggesting too. i guess it's pretty hard to go wrong with michelins or bfgs!

Is it really possible to get clean cuts on ply, MDF, or trim with a hand saw?

I could do so much more having it portable but if I can get clean cuts with such a smaller diameter blade I will have to save up for a big table/carpentry saw. I don't want to do that though. I have other places to put that cash.

from my experience something with 80 teeth or more and carbide tips usually works pretty damn good

That's far too many teeth. Those finer blades will simply trap heat and make your life hell, especially with the bonding resins for MDF. You need a clean ripping/finish blade. Ever since my table saw took a shit, too many years ago, I've been using my trusty circ. saw with a Freud Avanti 40T blade, model #TK303.

$20 at Lowes with a lifetime warranty.

I cut panels for countless things over 3 years before I had to send the blade in. They sharpened it, and sent it back within a week free of charge.

Humm, quite interesting. I will see if I can manhandle the tires. They are ratted for 40k, but I know that won't happen. The model is the ZIEX ZE-912 UHP

from my experience this is pretty dadgum true. I'm kinda leaning towards the A/S Plus' 45,000 mile warranty, but really and truly between BFG, Michelin, Yoko, (maybe Kumho or General, I've heard some good things about their performance tires, nothing as definitive as the first three I mentioned however), I don't really think I can go wrong...but for now, the (brand spanking new) Pirelli's that were on the car when I bought it will suffice just find.

Only forseeable "problems" are finding the right motor oil when its time for an oil change and a wiper blade. Never have I seen a car with just a single wiper blade before, its pretty neat. Trivial things really...

Hell I've taken a LS1 Trans Am through snow with Z rated tires all the way from St. Louis down to Mississippi.

It's the same with plywood. Aside from a worm drive, no circular saws really have enough power to safely use the "plywood" blades.

Actually thinking about picking up a worm drive type. I need to cut some 'crete too.

Mainly cabinet cuts. Ply and then MDF for some 'peaka boxes. I need to build a box for those 2 maelstoms sitting in my living room taking

Attempting to set up my Harmony 880 remote again since I changed connections when I moved the TV.

my 880 was a pile, there's no way to adjust how fast the remote cycles through commands when using the activity feature. it went a little faster than my equipment would allow, throwing off the activity sequence every time

Don't know. I've had this horrible gas pain all day, and it's slowly moving to my lower abdomen when lifting my legs or bending over, I get a cramp-type pain.
