Sean, tell me what you know or rather what to look for at the more late model M series 5's.

They seam way to low price for their class. I know it's not the luxury that an E55 or E63 may give but is there some other reason the price is so drastically low?

I am not a BMW V8 guy. They had some early growing pains, I am sure things are okay now but the era of the new spacey look and rapid motor changes made me not so much a modern BM'er guy. After driving the new 550 though I am switching back, but haven't bothered to research much.

Personally I much prefer the feel and drive of my 91 to that era as well, not that they aren't nice cars. my budget is basically under 40 for a 4 door sedan that makes my right foot happy. I'm pretty much at the end of my rope as the E55 meets nearly everything I like in a car but I'm honestly scared shitless of the Scharger and any related issues. The E63 benz with the NA engine seams to be back to the old bomb proof benz type of sedan.

Anywho, the E63 benz is way too spendy but I know the late model BMW v10 m5 has less power (only 500hp vs 507 for the benz) but it's insanely less in price when I looked them up. My finance advisor loves the new 550 also, just got one for his G/F I believe.

Ah, the E60. That won't disappoint you. While it isn't as thrilling as the E55, it is a MUCH more behaved car...almost too much so. Reliability wise there are a bunch of new computers in that thing which frighten me as well. Not so sure that it would be an "economical" solution. You might be better off with just a more vanilla 550i. Worth a drive, you might be surprised at how quick they feel. Is it the same? no, similar? no, but it doesn't suck.

The last generation V is a wreck and the new one is way overpriced used. In a few years perhaps it'd be fun if they keep making it.

The 300 drives like a tank and I have much more reliability faith in a BM'er with computers galore than anything out of MerChrysler.

If there were any SRT8 vehicle that I were looking at, it'd be the Jeep but damn could they put a more GM plasticky interior in it please??

Of course if you are at all pondering the Jeep you should just get the Cayenne Turbo.

If I don't go for a performance type car the 300 will be on my list. It's got the room and comfort and I could save a bundle. The old cts V was... OLD even when it was brand new.
