Okay instead of starting a new thread about it I will just ask in an old one. I just finished my box design for my 12" Nightshades. Its using 1" MDF 32"W 12.5"H and 32"D. 3.3^3 ft. tuned to 35 Hz. total port length is 45.125" with 96^2 in. of area. Does that sound right? I can't quite get Sketchup to agree with me so is it possible for someone to check my math and sketch it? Thanks guys.

I would cut that port area in half. I have 2 Nightshade 12's in 4cubes total with 4 4" aeroports. That comes out to be 50sqin for 2 subs. You can check my sig for the numbers, and that is daily not just burps. The car recently did a 147.3 in bassrace with a huge tear in the surround causing me to lose a little more than a db on a burp. So I'm assuming that it would bassrace even higher now since I've got fresh recones on both woofers. That is a stock Nightshade, yes? I did a 148.1 in the same box that I have now with the stock Nightshades and a Crunch GP3000D. Then I switched to the upgraded Nightshades and 2 SAZ 1500D's and did the 149.7 with that equiptment. If you need any help with a box let me know what kind of vehicle you have and I'll be more than happy to help you out.

Here's how modifying my box to fit the nightshade turned out. It's not pretty but it's damn loud off 1000w. I can't wait to put my Sundown 1500 in!

Thanks Rob, but now I just changed the dimensions it is now 32"wide 13"high and 32" deep. Using 1" MDF this time. Port is 6" wide, 35" long, with 66^2 in area. 4.3^3 feet tuned to 31 Hz. Anyone wanna sketch it?

Keep in mind if your mounting the subs on the 13" tall face, using 1" mdf you only have 11" internal height and the cut out is 11.125".
