Grr, you want to trade? 8052 for the 8053? Car toys has them on sale with 3 year warranty for $399, not bad. Wish they took tradeins.

I've never really used any of those HU on the list except for Eclipse :)

so my vote is for Eclipse..

Although I was looking into an Alpine or Pioneeer :+1:

:finger::wub:

I voted pioneer.

I like the layout of their H/U's

I havent really messed with an eclipse, but i really dont like their in dash DVD player/monitor

A downside for the Eclipse is that the face is undetachable, but other than that, its a crazy ass HU

I love my 8053. Loved my C90. Always have been around alpines though, but lately have started to like a few pioneers. Namely the 860mp. If I had to buy a brand new cd player right now it would probably be the 860mp or the 9835/9855 or whatever the new one is. 05' eclipse makes baby jesus cry.

I'm all about Pioneer Premier & Eclipse.

I voted Pioneer though, cause thats what I'm currently running.

Not one vote for alpine, didnt expect that

Strangely, i don't think the new eclipses are that bad looking. They do look a bit too much like some JVC designs i've seen though.

I've only messed with jvc, sony, panasonic, clarion and pioneer. Panasonic is a bit overpriced these days but reliable and look very nice. Pioneers are pretty decent too. JVC's are not bad once you get into the upper line, but panasonic gets my vote for now. Clarions are nice units but i only played with one for a couple of weeks before it got stolen... I am gonna try an Eclipse or Alpine next for the nifty features of course :D

I just looked at the new Eclipses,

all I can say is what the crap?

nice features but ???

I just saw the new eclipses in the shop. They had every model except the 8 volt models which should be out in a month. The new eclipses look better in person than on the pics, and i personally think better than last year's models but still aren't the greatest eye candy. Plus they retail for lower than last year's model.

Well, I've been using Kenwood (at start; 2 models) then I went over to Pioneer (2 models or so as well). Later on I tuned to the Clarion, but I didn't like the thing at all... Dunno, just didn't like it.

Then went back to my old Pioneer. And now I have an Alpine 9835R, which has still to be installed in my new car...

But my best friend has the same unit and I love it, lotsa good settings and stuff. And the dark design fits my car perfectly (or so I am to be believed). :)

Never had the pleasure to use an Eclipse though. But there is a simple reason for it; it's not for sale in the Netherlands (nor Europe for that matter). Really too bad. Seemed to me a very good headunit. Don't like their designs though. Although I could probably import one to my country, it's not very wise, since most of them don't have a removeable faceplate. And just let's say, Holland isn't a very nice country when having a mighty fine car hifi installation... :(

1. Alpine

2. Eclipse

3. Pioneer

In that order, but if I could get my hands on a Nak I would be dry humping it in the corner right now. :pornsmilie:

hehehehehe,

Denim, i own you.

how much did you BLA cost? I have not ordered one yet due to lack of extra loot

I worked out a deal with Noah (ngsm13). I gave him a $30 wiring kit and $25 in cash.

Pretty smokin deal considering one went for $83 on ebay a few days ago.
