Posted March 30, 200916 yr i recently picked up 2 15 inch RE destroyers...i thought they were MT's that had a recone. come to find out they are not lol. Apparently RE made 24 Destroyers. they are very similar to a MT with the same basket only painted dark gray metallic and have a slightly bigger motor. suppossedly they have 4 inch voicecoils and have to spl of a MT but better SQ too...only 24 EVER MADE! any info on these would be great cuz i know absolutley nothing about them other than they were used in comps by team toxic bass

March 30, 200916 yr those were done 4 years ago, hexi ran 4 of them off 2 VR4000D's modded in his wall.... he was aiming for a pluggable port wall with good daily plug and good SPL plug. You pretty much summed it up, was an MT motor with SQ softparts... LOUD SOUND QUALITY driverask Pete, or maybe even Tuan, I'm sure they know them inside and outhttp://www.hexibase.com/gallery/index.php?...DE4OWU4NWM1N2Jkhttp://www.hexibase.com/gallery/index.php?...OTQ1MjUxYjljZGM Edited March 30, 200916 yr by kryptonitewhite
March 30, 200916 yr Def. not a MT motor it's a 4" coil. it looks like the old RE HC's/TC3000's but with 9" mags...
March 31, 200916 yr Hexi changes his site so much, I couldn't find the 4 15" destroyer wall. IIRC it was not 4" coils, they were based off the MT hardware.... 3"email pete

March 31, 200916 yr Author haha no BS my friends...here is pics to prove it.also did a lil homework on them. talked to mark from RE who is a OG employee from the pre US AMPS days when these were made. the story behind them is that a guy wanted to make his own brand, but had RE make them for him, simialar to Eclipse titaniums built by TC...ALL original destroyers were not known as destroyers bc this guy had a different name and brand...therefore no RE logo on dustcaps of original destroyers. deal fell through after guy bought them and they were sold after this point as destroyers. And YES recone parts are available but only a few are left and once they are gone they are gone. recone is about 200 per as well. the motors are slightly larger in size but slightly less in output from MT's. Supposed to have far greater SQ with Output somewhere in the middle between SX and MT leaning towards MT. Power handling between 1800-3000 depending on skills, amp, electrical etc. u know the deal...HERES THE PICS<a href='http://img7.imageshack.us/my.php?image=redestroyer5.jpg'><img src='http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/4598/redestroyer5.jpg' border='0' alt='Image Hosted by ImageShack.us'/></a><br/><a href='http://img26.imageshack.us/my.php?image=redestroyer3.jpg'><img src='http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/7858/redestroyer3.jpg' border='0' alt='Image Hosted by ImageShack.us'/></a><br/><a href='http://img22.imageshack.us/my.php?image=redestroyer2.jpg'><img src='http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/320/redestroyer2.jpg' border='0' alt='Image Hosted by ImageShack.us'/></a><br/><a href='http://img5.imageshack.us/my.php?image=redestroyer.jpg'><img src='http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/1480/redestroyer.jpg' border='0' alt='Image Hosted by ImageShack.us'/></a><br/><a href='http://img8.imageshack.us/my.php?image=redestroyer4.jpg'><img src='http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/8743/redestroyer4.jpg' border='0' alt='Image Hosted by ImageShack.us'/></a><br/>They sure do look sexy in person! weighed in at 58.7 Lbs too....and when free aired at 650 watts they have excursion like a mofo

March 31, 200916 yr Author dont know yet...one for sure needs recone. but other dont know yet. ive seen a few posts on them around 400-450 per. im gonna do the recones and test them out and see what they can do then probly move on the something else, but still unsure of what would be the best box wise for 2
March 31, 200916 yr i say sell one keep one FOREVER and tell everyone you know that only 25 were ever made lol
March 31, 200916 yr Author hahaha im liking that last one...Bragging rights right. come to think of it, i believe i may be able to swoop on another but its just basket and motor only, so that would need recone as well. but dayumm 3 of 24 ever. pretty sweet being that its RE number one and Old school RE number 2. i bet scott atwell over at FI would know a thing or 2 about these
