what amp would be better for a 12" Bl with the BP Power? US Amps MD 1D (underrated at 1200w @ 1ohm) or US Amps MD 2D (underrated at 1500w @ 1ohm)... Also would the flatwind coil be worth the extra $20? And also what would be a good box size? I know it recommends anywhere from 1.8-2.5... but what would be about perfect?

I'd get the first amp, the flat wind coil, and build right in the middle.

For everything you have listed I would say the 1D with 2.5cuft. I like bigger boxes and less power but some like more power and a little smaller box.

1st amp

The flatwind coil is "really" only for SPL but if you have an extra $20 laying around go right ahead. All its gonna do is make it more efficient and dissipate the heat better.

And like Ryan J said, just go right in between. And it all depends on whether your gonna port the box or not.

the flatwind adds more handling power. id go with the first amp and would build a box around 3.5 cubes.

I'd go with the 2nd amp and build the box to stay within what you have room for. I'd also get flatwind just to be safer because it is not just for SPL. I have had a 15" BL powered by an 06 model of the MD2D. All I can say is that it was LOUD and there were no smell or anything with no flatwind in a 2.5 cubed box.
