I am so impressed with my SAZ-1000D's output power that I am ordering another Friday or Monday.

But here is where I am stuck.

Should I run them strapped at 2 ohm, or one amp on one woofer at 1ohm each.

I am just wondering the benefits of running strapped, or if their are none why shouldn't I?

P.S. I got 1032.53 watts with rise to 1.8ohm and drop from 13.5v to 12.9v.

from my experience and from talks with a local shop from their experience with strapping, it's safer to run amps independently. If one amp fails or goes into protect, it will more than likely take the other one with it.

I am not to worried about something bad happening, I am REALLY careful with my Sundown amps. And if something does go wrong then so be it.

Which do you yall would offer more power?

This will be a dumb question

If I run each sub with it's own amp, Can I use the BR out to the BR in of the other amp and avoid using another set of RCA's?

no you cannot, just use a Y splitter.

Also, being careful has nothing to do with it. I proved that in my experience on here a while back.

A slight defect in shipping that isnt visible outside of the amp's case can cause catastrophic failure when strapped because they rely on each other to work properly.

That's why i run all my amps separate with a master controller so they both "act" like they are still joined but aren't.

I have been thinking of that, but I have a Y splitter already on the subwoofer output on the radio.... it's a one channel output. I don't want to weaken the weak ass 2volt pre out even more.

And I can't get a Line driver soon enough for a huge show coming up

in that case use the maxx link you can use it as a gain matching device and a line driver to boost your output make sure if you are just useing it to gain match that you only use the posative outputs if you use both the posative and negative it wont work

Think is........ I have a huge show on the 20th and 21st. Not really enough time to get a maxxlink or any line driver for that matter.

I was just asking more then anything if anyone saw a big problem with strapping them.

Y splitter will be fine. In my vehicle strapped was louder. You will just have to test to see which way will work best for your application.

i was once told the damping factor will be higher when you run them individually..

you also lose a little efficiency while strapping as well..

if it helps i have to sae1000d amps strapped when i was running my 2 SI v4 mag subs, it pounded the subs hard and i like how they sounded plus it was simply to set up! remember though 2 SAZ1000 strapped puts out 1800rms at 2ohm but really each amp is seeing 1ohm each!

so if i was a gambling man i would say hook up each amp individually to gain more power! but that is jsut my 2cents!

The amps will do 2000+ strapped, the 1800 watt rating is VERY conservative.

I have been talking to Jacob and strapped is what I am doing. :fing34:
