Hey guys I was just wondering what what ppl would choose!

either 2 - batcap 2000 bnib

or

1 XS d5100 and 1 xs d3100 bnib

The batcaps will be about $536shipped

The xs will be about $650shipped.

The price isn't a factor to me i am just wondering which would be a better pick?

my car audio right now is 2krms and in the future i wnat to push 4-5krms

thanks for your time and suggestions

Kenneth

do you run your system with the battery off? if not then dont bother with a battery just get an upgraded alternator

i do run my car off from time to time. i wanted to get the batteries upgraded so i can get a 2-4krms setup going with no problems!

You do know that one d3100 has more aH rating then both the batcap 2000s.

i know the batcap 2000 has 50 ah (amp hours) and the d3100 has 117

but what dose the AH mean for a daily driver if the car is always on? can someone please enlighten me to why i would need a lot of AH?

A large load on a smaller battery is more of a stress on it than it is to its larger counterpart. For the short term you might not notice a difference but it will eventually show in a gradual loss of performance. A large load on a smaller battery is a deeper discharge than it is to the larger battery and the deeper the discharge the more wear is on the given cells. Where a given load might be 5% of the work the d3100 can do where the same load would be 12-13% on the smaller cell.....

My vote is,

Alternator upgrade and 2 batteries...

The caps won't help as much as the batteries...

(for proof try to Db drag with caps....)

I was in the same boat with you on trying to decide on what battery to run, two bat caps put out 50AH, 2000 CCA for $300.

Lately I been thinking of getting two XS Power Batteries D2400 & D3100 for my system but today I spoke to a friend in Chicago who owns his own sound shop and stop selling Optima Batteries because price has been going up while quality is going done. Then he thought of Kinetik Batteries but wanted a battery with a less price tag for his customers so he told me about Shuriken Batteries which I been seing in local stereo shops here in Dallas, Fort Worth area. Basically their the same as Kinetik but cheaper, so I checked them out today and they just entered the car audio industry around 2007-2008 and where at CES 2009. Their only sold at a few places now sonicelectronix.com and a couple smaller companies on the internet, but fairly priced.

Now Im looking at their BT-80 or BT-100(Starting) & BT-120(System), www.shurikenonline.com

http://www.shurikenonline.com/brochure.pdf (2009 Brochure)

Check them out, the BT-120 does 2600 CCA & 120 Ah for $270-300.
