July 10, 200916 yr going to hit bed now, am not successful yet amp is working all lights remote everything but sub not making any noise and no movement?any ideas, all seems wired up ok, +amp to +term - to -check the head unit settings, and all the connections (amp, battery, head unit and rca's). hopefully its a small trouble shooting problem.
July 11, 200916 yr Author my step dad did check for current running all the way through, amp is powered, and grounded. remote from stereo is working, amp remote lights up, i put it on half for now.im just trying to see any movement from the sub.doesn't matter where the gain is im getting nothing?grrrr this is annoying.also i feel like i have had the sub to long to do anything even if its broke. its been sat in my room for 7 month whilst i am getting the other peices of my system.im going to have another look.please post ideasthanks
July 11, 200916 yr Author just to check.....speaker wire...i have 1 pos to cup to + term on 1 side of sub.and 1 neg to cup to - term on other side of sub?sound right ?
July 11, 200916 yr That doesn't sound right. The Fi has dual coils. You should have one wire from red terminal on one side of sub to the red terminal on the other side of the sub then to positve speaker on the amp. Then wire from black terminal on one side of the sub to the other black terminal on the other side of the sub then to the negative speaker on the amp. If it's a dual 2 then you have a net 1 ohm load. Can you post pic of how you have it wired now?
