No it's not hard. How long it takes depends on the type of box, but generally no more than a couple hours.

I just built my first one. I recommend a table saw if you have access to one. I only had a circular saw and it was not fun trying to get straight cuts.

i usually make a whole day of it, get a couple of freinds to come over and help, it makes it more fun that way. so yea it usually take me all day. lol

no its not hard at all, just measure twice and cut once!

uh, I personally take a little while....noteing that i currently don't have a garage. so gathering up and putting away the tools, takes some time. second thing that extends my builds, details.

measure, measure, measure, cut, moch up, (well when it applies), like physically place board in area to test fit, sometimes that trunk boot is a b*t*h to pass through and fit box in its final resting place, well any way, then you gotta glue, clamp, predrill with counter sink, screw..... uh, braceing, caulk, 45's, maybe resin for some folks, .....round over edges, wood filler all screw holes, sand any slightly misalligned joints, ummm, pending on exterior finish preferances, theres carpet, resin, paint, roll on bed liner, vinyl, perhaps some other material............there is also the wiring option, wire cups, bolts, just a hole and silicon ........and then i like the t-nuts for the mounting of the subs, gotta install them..........so, yeah, it can go fast and as you start to expand your skill level and preferance, then it is time to invite friends and make a day of it................

but let me tell you, there is not a dam thing wrong with a cardboard box, duct tape, the guts out of a pillow and a old sh*tty sub! car audio is a hobby, a past time, with lots and lots of science to it, but over all, just have fun with it. :fing34:

X2. All I have is a circular saw and I would kill for a good table saw. No not the 14" Ryobi table saw for $150 from home depot either.

You can actually use a circular saw , but u do need long straight boards that u can clamp down so that your saw can guide itself that way ,of course it takes a little longer that way especially when having to make multiple cuts ...

I have a circular saw and a table saw. For small cuts I might use a table saw, but overall I like using a circular saw. I usually take my time on boxes. It depends on detail, how you want it to look. Everything depends on you. Don't be discouraged if the first one doesn't come out you think it will. I have built probably close to 30+ boxes now, and somethimes it is still a little difficult. But i always try to exceed my expatin from previous boxes.

I have the ryobi table saw from home depot. the 2 hundred something one though on a wheeled stand and a telescoping table. you do have to measure the front and rear of the fence for a straight cut, but until you spend more on the fence than the saw its gonna be like that.

as long as I dont need to cut anything over 28 its real nice, I can go to 33 about but the outer part of the table starts to sage with a full 8" length and then it ends up cutting a slight meiter.

but Ive built a few boxes with it and love it compared to the worm drive. I do use my worm drive to cut everytihng to a rough size leaving one factory edge to rip from though.

yea just take ur time....ask questions if needed....o and take pics!!!! :wacky:

I dont mind working around people, sometimes you may need there help and other times it makes time fly by faster to talk to someone while the slow process is going on.

awwww mannnn i was hoping it would work :angry22: but anyways get some nice textured spray paint....makes it look nice
