I was going to try for a T-line but theres no room to get a bigger size box really into the trunk and the girlfriend wanted a fairly small sized box so yeah.

I just cut out the speaker hole. The port still needs to be glued in. more to come.

looks good, if u get a chance, round the corners of the pieces that stick out from the wall, that make up the port (if you know what i mean).

Yup, I was going to do that. I debated on if I wanted to 45 the corners or not. lol. I probably wont.

My first carpet attempt. I didn't do a perfect job at the seams but it was okay. I forgot to paint the port before carpeting. fail for me. :D

Finished product looks great.

It probably won't be installed until after this weekend because I have a comp to get ready for.

o and one advise to anyone thats about to carpet... GET A SHARP BLADE. :D The messed up seams are from a dull blade.

that is a good looking box, dude. i have a couple of re audio se10d4, that need .65 cft. i can't find a prefab (yeah, i know, prooves i'm a newbie). i fairly new to the knowledgeable side of car audio, and i like what i have learned from you guys. i have my subs on a hifonics zxi 1006, it replaced a ma audio hk898 (i said i was learning) the zxi make ma sound like crap, amplifies nuances the ma did not even here. after seeing all of you guys build your own i'm about ready to build my own. your's is sweet. thanks for all the info y'all provide (dirty south y'all).

Good job on box and fuck carpet (it doesnt help in performance), cant wait till here the review after the install.

Well, I did the carpet because the girl would like it to be more clean and integrated into the trunk surrounding for a more OEM look. I will try to install it today with the free 3 hours between my afternoon classes.

Very nice end result. :)

Okay, so it was installed a couple weeks ago. I forgot about the review. lol. Well, at first the sub sounded great. The low end was amazing. I was a little disappointed in the top end, I am guessing more top end bass near midbass was desired. Well, I figured out the problem. The low pass was set too low. lol. I turned it up to about 120 and it was a lot better. The girlfriend loves it. This was an upgrade for better output on the low end from two 12" SD-V1 subs in a sealed box. She has a little bit more trunk space as well. There was one thing I didn't like as much but it was her car and preference and not the sub. Her rear deck speakers were way louder than her door speakers. I tried to level it out for a better front stage but she didn't like it. lol. But its her setup so she likes it the way it is. Also, at a local meet we tested to see how well she does on the mic just for kicks. She did a 134dB at the kick and like 130dB at the headrest ( I am not possible with the headrest score). It was a while back. So yeah, this was a great build and I recommend this sub and the ap1500 amp to anyone wanting something for the cost. Box with a lot of mdf left over and carpet - $35, amp - $150 shipped, sub used - $75 shipped.

nice review. turns out we cant run the 10 in my buddy's s10 so we're gona try 2 SA-8s behind the passenger seat (1.5 net ~34 hz tune) off the ap1500.

looks good and sounds great, seen it when we where down there.

cost friendly builds that look and sound great = FTW :woot:

Cost is a determining factor in most of my builds. :D

okay update. lol

The girlfriend decided to blast pussycat dolls for an hour while stuck in traffic. Battery died and the alternator is only outputing 30 amps as AAA and autozone said. I was going to give her a d5100 battery but her dad bought her a new wet cell battery already so I'll see about giving the battery to her or not. :D But she will be getting a DC Power alternator. rated 230 amps max and 140 at real idle. I received a picture of the alternator on a test. 250 amps at 6500 alternator rpm. so probably about 2-3k rpm on engine rpm. I'm jealous.

I'm going to install it tomorrow. I think it uses a stock size pulley because Rob said that I can use the same belt.
