  • I have a board that cut to make a 3/4 lid for the old spare tire area, now the new battery storage area when I get two new batteries. The board covers up most of the area, leaving some room in the bac

  • Im not gonna carpet the lid, it is sprayed with speckle paint and will stay like that. Thats exactly why I didnt make the lid take up the whole storage space and the box will be wider than it is deepe

  • Very good input on paint being scratched off so that will be a good idea, I wont put the board in the car until I finish painting the other side and putting some type of dampening down to keep it from

Dude, I really like your amp rack...

Good thing I'm way north of you or I'd probably be breaking into your trunk now...

You would risk your life for an $8 board from Home Depot, I picked it out of the Book Shelf, Shelve Building section (already painted and cut to size exact/they have different sizes and colors available). But thanks for the compliment, this is my third time doing this but wanted to make this one a little more special than the last one and the padding underneath the amp does it.

I'm taking the amp too! lol

Haha, yeah I only have two and will be putting the other one under my other high amp I get in the future. I wish I had two more to put under my sub amp but I have padded feet for those right now.

Sub looks familiar :P. I was actually really surprised when I saw that my Type R was taller.

Get this bitch in now!

Naw Im taking my time on this one and doing everything right incase I upgrade in the future, no shortcuts on this install just to hear it.

The box will be 3.75ft^3 @ 30Hz, working on final design with shizzzon (thanks man) :drink40:

respected view !

looking good.

Since Im putting my amp on box I already have 4 padded feet for it but decided to see if I could find some more egg foam and I did, not much though it is only 10" x 10" but cant complain what you get for free. I will just center it behind the amp unless I can find some more of it at my Aunts house, here's a couple of pictures:

Looks good so far Jay. Cant wait to come see it in person!!

Yeah man thankx, Im actually looking for a good ole job now so I can speed this build log up some but it is coming slowly. Im trying to find someone to design me a temporary box until I decide to buy one from either Fisher Customs or Pound That Sound since they both do nice work. I still have your number and will get up wth you one of these days.

All RCA's and y-splitters have been purchased, just came from Home Depot and grabbed some Titebond II and clear silicone from Wal-mart earlier this weekend. On my last box I used nails and trying to figure out which route I want to go this time nails or screws? Since I dont want to rent any tools and havent bought any since I came home from college I may just have Home Depot do my cuts for me. I need to go and purchase a few clamps and some wood then I will be set to start on making me an enclosure.

I ordered 1 of the 4 Mach 5 Audio MLI-65's that will be used in this install (wanted to check it out before I bought all four), the rest are gonna be purchased some time next week for my birthday.

I had Lowes cut out my pieces for me, made it real easy

Yeah I remember you saying that in one of your post that you made (thats where the idea came from today while walking around Home Depot). Was it nice even cuts?

Yeah they do a good job, all cuts were exact to my dimensions, plus it makes it easy to fit in a car.

Yeah the fitting in my car is another reason why I want them to cut it for me, dont have any friends with trucks like I did at school. Well thanks for the insight man :drink40:

Thanks to bromo I have my enclosure designed and all I need to do is go buy some wood and get it put together. The enclosure will be 3.72 ft^3 @ 30.01Hz with 50.38 in^2 of port area.

Get them boys to cut your wood and lets get this thing started. Dont forget your trink40.gif too. It also helps to have suds off to the side. Im sure its a builing technique a few folks like to implement here!smile.gif
