April 10, 201015 yr Author Damn dude, I know I havent been gone that long! Did you ever test the Z15 before you sold it? Plans be a changin, huh?Yeah after seeing you upgrade it was that time and also my friend wanted a sub and nice enclosure so I said why not. These last two days I have been installing his system, Im about to go finish everything up and seal the inside of this box since he finally got the hole cut in it. By tomorrow or Monday I will actually hear the Z15 in a box, I only tested it a few times in free air off the SAX-125.2 and enjoyed it.Im upset cause I was so close to having bass but now the wait will keep going, at least Im working on my front stage. You already know plans stay changing, I have some equipment coming this week so its time to keep this build going. I want to be on your level man

You already know plans stay changing, I have some equipment coming this week so its time to keep this build going. I want to be on your level man I honestly still love my Z15. Its in the garage now, still in the enclosure, being used as a table! Along with my Hertz 12s! It is an outstanding driver and your friend will no doubt enjoy it.It sucks to go without slump for that long too. I feel your pain dude! Ya, I know plans are constantly changing. Its always costin me more money! Haha.I see your eyeing a new nightshade now. The Z15 is nice but...it doesnt quite hold a candle to the NS's! Great pic bro. Your trunk lid will be slappin hard! Thanks jaycee. I dont think Im too dope yet though! Im trying to attain a level something close to the Punisher, as it just makes me drool. Trust me bro, you will be poppin collas in no time on another level!
April 13, 201015 yr So wait a sec, you changed your sig back to the Z15... Did the sale not go through?
April 13, 201015 yr So wait a sec, you changed your sig back to the Z15... Did the sale not go through?I see a nightshade not a z15
April 13, 201015 yr Good call! I saw v.2 and I forgot that the nightshade was getting a makeover too! That and it's still a single 15. I thought for sure he'd go for 12s. Edited April 13, 201015 yr by Don Ganso
April 13, 201015 yr Although he had a v.1 not a v.2...Great gravy I gotta learn to read...Either way, good luck with this Jay-cee. Keep on keepin' on. Edited April 13, 201015 yr by Don Ganso
April 13, 201015 yr Admin Question for SSA, right now I want to go back to 2-12"s on a SAZ-2000D (minus well go for cone area instead of just one 15"). I have 3.5ft^3 to 4ft^3 to work with after displacements (subs, port and bracing), I will be tuning to 30Hz. My budget for subs is going to be around $200-$300 a subwoofer, right now Im looking at the SSA Icons or RE Audio SX's. My goals are a great ground pounder with crushing lows, I listen to mostly: Chopped & Screwed, R&B, Old School and some Rap. The enclosure will be port and subs rear firing, if there is any more information you want to know let me know (also electrical will be up to par so that is handled). Thanks for any input or suggestions.Should be a few weeks out on the new ICON's but if you wanted 12's we could build you a set for now with the new look to it. They would deff crush the lows for you
April 13, 201015 yr Author Yeah the sale went through and right now just stuck between two setups, either a Sundown Nightshade V.2 15" or 2 SSA Icon 12"s in a 3.5ft^3 enclosure tuned to 30Hz. Both will cost around the same price just need to decide which will be better for me and my goals (killer low end with amazing output).
May 16, 201015 yr Author Well Im selling the SAZ-2000D to Hove, right now everything is being revamped (highs, mids, amps, subs). I dont even know where to start right now to be honest with you, its all a blur.
May 16, 201015 yr Author Just purchased a MB Quart DSC4125, now my temporary highs/mids amp is completed for now until I can get the Zed Audio amp that comes out later on towards year end. I just ordered a pair of Selenium 6W4P for now just to have a little front stage until I can decide on a permanent setup. I will be worrying about the sub stage within the next couple of months but right now im only worried about getting the front stage situated, just a little heads up for anyone interested. Pictures of equipment will be shown when its all here: both MB Quart amps, Clarion H/U, Selenium speakers, O2 speakers and that is it so far.
May 17, 201015 yr Author Just bought some Ascendant Audio Carbon 7" mids to test against some Seleniums to see if I want to stay the pro audio route or make a switch back to car audio speakers.
May 17, 201015 yr Author Everything is getting closer and closer now, the sub stage will either be 2-12" SSA Xcons on a Crescendo 3KWP or 2-12" Havocs on a SAZ-2500D. I will be using the box from SSA's technical section for either enclosure:http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/index.php/technical/xcon-box-designs/xcon-12q-dual-ported.html.**** I will be taking 8" off the port length to change the tuning to 32hz, still debating between the two.
May 17, 201015 yr I would love to see and hear the 2 12" XCONs. I am debating 2 sealed 15" Xcons instead of the BTL 15" ported? I seen the mids you scooped up in the F/S section. Slowly but surely you will get there and learn alot along the way.
May 17, 201015 yr Author Yeah I actual got another pair of mids as well, some Selenium 6W4P's to test out too. Im just looking for what sounds I will like and the only way to do it is test the ones out you been eyeing for awhile, it doesnt hurt to sell them if they dont work.
May 19, 201015 yr hurry up and get done we would like to see you at the show in august if you can make it. its only a couple hours east down i-20
May 20, 201015 yr Author I did get boxes today, bad luck with ups and fed ex in one day. The Seleniums arrived in one piece and they are in my Bookshelf speaker set that I was making for my mom for Mothers Day and in her room. The AA Carbons got damaged so I will have to wait till Friday to get some pictures of those when the new pair come. My MB Quart DSC4125 came today, box all beat up and a whole ripped all the way across the bottom of the box like someone tried to get the amp out the box (it looks like they almost succeeded. The amp is installed, I will take pictures and post them in the next 30 minutes.
May 20, 201015 yr Author Throwing the MB Quart DSC4125 in there tomorrow for some extra power, temporary amps are done with. Now it is time to worry about speakers for front stage, then Im moving on too the sub stage.Nothing special but a couple of pictures for now.
May 20, 201015 yr looks nice man i know you mention earlier in your post sub front stage speakers you were thing about, have you set your mind on any yet? What kind of sub stage do you have in mind?
May 20, 201015 yr also how you liking that audiocontrol epic 160? i have been looking at them a little bit.
