Hello All,

I have a 300c, currently I am running an Audison - Music Expression (sorry if there are linking rules) to a 4 ohm sub (HERTZ MILLE ML 3800 15" ). I understand that I can also run this amp in mono to a dual 2 ohm.

I like to listen to a lot of hip hop but also a good classic rock and some new rock (audio slave etc...) When I get into my rap, I like to really feel it, I like the low lows...

I know its hard with the trunk on these cars, but I was planning on purchasing the BL15 Dual 2 Ohm and the daily option.

What do you recommend?

that amp is only 4 ohm stable in mono mode, so a dual 2 ohm sub would be ur best bet...if ur really looking for lows, you might wanna check out the q series. they are the best sounding subs and they love the low notes. i have personally owned an 18" and it got loud as hell and sounded great doing it. so get a dual 2 ohm sub and wire it down to 4 ohms.

So the Q over the BL?

Is that enough power for either the Q or the BL in mono mode?

I was never satisfied with the Hertz woofer

I would go for a Q over the BL, becuase I read the reviews of it, and it got loud and it was a nice thight sound from it. And for the Q 900W rms should be enough. It's rated to 1000W rms.

I myself just ordered two 18" Q's. ;)

you play rap most of the time? if so go with the BLs they are louder of the same power and will get plenty low

Although I have little experience with the BL, I will still vote for th Q. With that power, you will be better utilizing your amp and have outstanding SQ when you need it. Although I absolutely love my Havoc's, there are aspects of the Q's I miss. Amazing drivers, IMHO.

Lots of misrepresented advice here. :(

You are not a Q buyer, get the BL. You don't listen to low low's. The BL will get plenty low enough for the music you prefer. Sure the Q does play lower, but you will give up significant output for something that you won't use.

I will politely disagree. :) I have similar musical tastes and the Q was the better choice IMO. I also considered the caliber of the rest of the components he is using in my recommendation. It seems as if he is more into SQ than anything else, just the occasional beat down.

OT, I am loving the M!

Get the BL if you listen to rap and like it loud !

The Q is a really good sub, but rap does not get so low as people might think. So the BL is the best choice. Give him a GOOD CUSTOM box tuned low enough and you would be good to go!!!

just my 2 cents.

Agreed, the BL's get low and loud

I should clarify just so there is no confusion, my ipod currently has 30 playlists (albums/cds), and of those 30 there are 6 that are not hip hop or rap related, so I would say I listen to bass a lot more. I really enjoy the low, lows... feeling it in your chest. The Hertz was okay, but the sealed box with that 4 ohm woofer just never produced like I wanted it to. So I am going to port the box and run either a Q or BL (leaning towards the BL)

Impedance will not determine output. The BL is the woofer for you, it will deliver in the rap bass frequencies where the Q won't.

Everyone that doesn't agree with is a :tool:

I have a question that maybe that TS maybe is wondering about as well. Would a sealed enclosure be any good if you listen to mainly rap?

My assumptions about what you were looking for were incorrect. If Rap is pretty much all you listen to, go for the BL.

I will however, disagree with your assessment of me.

You're contradicting yourself:

How so?

I said everyone that doesn't agree is a tool, and you said:

You agreed with me bub.

I will not be running a sealed box, I will be porting my current box, but that will be a later post. I went ahead and ordered my loaded BL today!

PS: Thanks to everyone for their input so far!
