I've done quite a few installs in the past, but they've always been on older vehicles. I now have a 2008, and I honestly don't trust myself to install an LOC and amp.

I contacted two shops that I've done business with in the past, and both quoted me at $65 for the install. Now I need to decide which one to go with. What would be the best way to pick one? I've seen work done by both and they both do a very good job. One of them is a member of the BBB and has an A+ rating. The other is not a member and has one complaint against it in the last 36 months, which was administratively closed (BBB said that the shop made an offer to repair, but the customer did not accept the offer).

Should I just go in and talk with them and go with the one that gives me the best "vibe"? It's been years since I've been to either one, but there is one that I'm leaning towards.

I'd just go with my gut if I was you. If you're already leaning toward one then go for that one.

i would go in and talk personally with who is going to be doing it...like the specific person. make sure they are going to do exactly what u want them to do. Have them show you pics of their work. just go with your gut after u meet them.

I would probably go to each shop and see if they can tell you how they would go about installing it. How and where they would make the connections, how and where the unit would be mounted, etc. Go with whichever gives you the warm & fuzzy feeling inside. It will probably be the installer talking to you...see which one gives you a feeling of confidence.

Yeah, the BBB website said that the shop tried to resolve the problem, but the customer didn't want them to. I've also read several online reviews of the shop, and they have all been good. One even stated that there was a problem and the shop fixed it at no charge.

I agree with the whole vibe.

I was getting a box made for my old Fi Bl 15 i called a shop called Max Speed And Sound they were extremely down putting. They said my saz-3000d wouldn't do rated etc etc, but i called a place called N.W. audio and they were great, friendly nice etc.

i would go in and talk to the installer and have him go through the install with you.. show you the blueprints if you will. 1 guy can be a really cool relaxed guy and do shitty work.. and one guy can be an arseho and do an amzing job.

after knowing how they would do the install and noticed the tricks each installer has.. see what one is best for you.
