I have a guy that has a brand new in box Power Acoustik A1800DB amp, and he's wanting to trade it for my used Memphis 16-ST1000D. A 1800 watt for a 1000 watt.. I know PA isn't as quality of a brand as Memphis.. but it seems like a good amp. Any suggestions of whether or not I should follow through?

hell no. That PA amp will blow in 6 months but the Memphis will last years.

Quality (as in build) should always trump Quantity (as in power). That is something many people on here and even more so on other sites fail to realize.
