Posted February 14, 201015 yr I'm going atleast a 7cuft box tuned to somewhat 30-35hzt range. I'm building my own box and the subs aren't here yet. According to UPS the subs weigh in at 54lbs each. I'm simply asking if i should double baffle the box?
February 14, 201015 yr i would double baffle (or if you're using larger wood you can single baffle. for my bl i used 1inch) and also use allthread rods for support in the box, the BL's are pretty hefty woofers.
February 14, 201015 yr its never a bad idea to double baffle. especially with 108 pounds on the baffle. i would most definitely do the double baffle.

Where did you find 1" MDF?
February 14, 201015 yr double layered 1/2 or double 3/4 works too.you can go to lumbar yards and buy 1 inch from there too.
February 14, 201015 yr Author Double it and brace it.OK cool you said brace it as well cause I was damn sure going to flip a coin at it
February 14, 201015 yr Think of it this way, you'll never regret having too much bracing unless, simply put, your stupid and lose too much airspace. But you'll really regret it when your baffle breaks cause you didn't brace it.
