March 1, 201015 yr Admin Anyone have any input on them? I never heard of them. Just saw it on ssa store. They are a new brand that we just picked up. More info will come soon!
March 1, 201015 yr "SQL"?? - You do realize you will be getting an email from //M5.LOLI'll assure you he's not the only one who has a problem with that term.
March 1, 201015 yr And its not the term but how it is used. On the net it seems to have translated into a really fucking loud sub that doesn't sound like shit. IMO the two letters SQ have NO reason for being in a definition like that. If you want an uber loud SQ setup then by all means all I can say is sweet and please show me pics and share details of your front stage.
March 1, 201015 yr Author I know the two doesn't belong together. spl and sq. They name there sub Daber ""SQL""-15. Their description is "To us, ""SQL"" means “Sound Pressure with Quality”. I know you guys don't agree with that.
March 2, 201015 yr When i first seen the pics of the subs i said to myself "Man these look a lot like Dayton HO." Then i went and brought up there website and look at the other pics of the subs and did a side by side comparison on the specs. I must Say that it looks like my assumption is correct.. If they are truely Dayton HO's then they are great subs.Here is a side by side view...Daber Specs // Dayton Ho Specs: (Based on 15's)Re: 3.3 // 3.3Le: 1.81 // 1.83Fs; 23 // 24Qms: 4.46 // 4.48Qes: .41 // .42Qts: .38 // .39Mms: (g) 381 // 380.6Cms (mm/n) .11 // .11Sd: (cm2) 830 // 829.6Vd: (L) 996 // 995.5Bl: 21.5 // 21.52Vas: 109 // 109.7Vc Diameter: 2.5 in // 2.5 inSPL: 90 // 90 @ 2.83V/1mPE: 800w // 800wDaber (Pics from SSA)Dayton (pic from Chad at DIY and Parts express) Edited March 2, 201015 yr by sqjeep
March 3, 201015 yr Hey guys,I thought I would jump in and provide some comments. They are based on the Dayton HO but there are some suspension differences. In the near future we are bringing out the DVC version of this subwoofer which will actually be cosmetically similar but will be very dissimilar T/S spec wise. I will go ahead and leak the specs on the new DVC 12's. Note that this is for a 12". Fs = 24.68 HzQms = 4.095Vas = 39.5 litersCms = 0.107 mm/NMms = 390 gRms = 14.77 kg/sXmax = 14 mmXmech = 21 mmP-Dia = 255 mmSd = 0.0511 sq.mP-Vd = 0.715 litersQes = 0.477Re = 1.8 ohmsLe = 2 mHZ = 2 ohmsBL = 15.11 TmPe = 700 wattsQts = 0.427no = 0.12 %1-W SPL = 82.94 dB2.83-V SPL = 89.42 dB(measured with coils in parallel.) I will be releasing more information in the future once I have the Daber Audio forum up and running. We will also be introducing some component sets in the near future, but before that we will be bringing out a high output driver that is another exclusive product and is handmade. I know you guys don't like the name of this line, so my apologies there. The name is really meant to imply that it is a driver that is well rounded. Any suggestions? I will try to reply to any questions as I get time. I am working on several projects and will check back later. Thanks,Steve BrownDaber Audio Edited March 3, 201015 yr by DaberAudio
