Posted March 7, 201015 yr Howdy,I installed my second Iraggi alt but am having trouble wiring the second one into the system without them fighting each other.Anyone have any experience doing this??
March 7, 201015 yr Author fighting each other? explain? and did you wire them in series or parellel?I wired them in parallel.
March 8, 201015 yr explain this word fighting? i assume the belt is over both of the alts equally? also if they are hooked up in parellel (both going to the battery + post) have you considered running 1 alt to the rear batteries? maybe i dont understand what fighting means?
March 8, 201015 yr Author Yes good Idea. I'll ask Dom.thanks Guys. What I meant by fighting is that when the alt regulators sees the line voltage, they switch and stop charging. this is an ungoing thing so the charge light keeps going on and off. I am probably missing some module. Edited March 8, 201015 yr by Hanapi
March 10, 201015 yr Author for duel alts i think you do need a regulator. Both Amps have built in regulators.I heard from someone that I need a dual alternator PCm and a wiring harness. It is the PCM that regulates charging anyway.I sent Iraggi alts an E mail but have not heard back yet.
March 10, 201015 yr DC Power told me that if u run dual alts, they need to both be using the same regulator. If not... then each alternator has to have it's OWN battery bank.
March 10, 201015 yr Author Well...I'm getting pretty frustrated.I was thinking of doing just that. having one alt charge two batteries and the other the other batteries.I'll have to take two of the big amps and split them between the two battery banks. I guess just split all of them between the battery banks. These alts have their own regulator built in..I wonder if I can change anything. Edited March 10, 201015 yr by Hanapi
