Wat do you guys think would be louder and better option for my camaro ? I have the power for either and about 3.5 cubes for the box after displacement

Wats the max guys are running on these new 8s i have heard some where around 800 rms but i would throw around 500 rms to each just wondering if i should invest in these subs

Thanks Guys

Get the 15"

3 subs will put a weird impedance on your amp, depending on whether you get 2ohm dvc or 4ohm, but either way you won't be able to run 1ohm,2ohm,4ohm,etc

unless you want to run multiple amps, but for that amount of power I doubt you do...

There's nothing wrong with running unusual impedances if you're doing it for a specific purpose. For example, I'll be running 3 SA-8's on my SAZ-1500. I ordered D2, voice coils in series, subs in parallel will give the amp a 1.333 ohm load. Now, those subs are rated 400wrms, the amp at 1 ohm delivers a RATED 1500wrms. That .3 won't give a noticable drop in power to the 8's and each will recieve right around 500wrms. Also, with the amps reputable ability to produce more than rated power it will be MORE than enough power to get the 8's going quite well.

OP, if you would like to go with the three 8's then go for it. They'll be happy in about 3cuft net space and they'll give a MUCH better wow factor than the 15". Just my .02

X2.

Did you know impedance changes when power is applied? Like when the voice coil heats up? It's called impedance rise.

Be different, go with 8"s. How about 4? :)

even box specs raise tuning as well. long ports kill your low desired impedance. say you have a final ohm load of 1. itll never actually be 1. running at half ohms will be closer to 1 ohm then running at 1 ohm. common sense we all should know.

What stealth said is correct, but NEVER count in impedance rise in a daily system.

Why?

because music is dynamic. if your only burping tones then you can count that. if on music do not.

Ignore my post, sorry about that.

What amp are you running? If you have a good electrical system and the amp can run below 1 ohm, I don't see a problem running 3 dual 4 sa8's and the amp seeing 0.66 ohms or 3 dual 2's at 1.33 ohms. If you are running the SAZ model amp! If I am wrong someone please enlighten me!

im running 3 d4 sa-12s on a saz-1500 daily, amps stays cool just make sure you have the electrical, one extra bat should be ok

the 15 more than likely has more motor.. i'd go 15.

Also a little more cone area, now if we were talkin four 8s this might be a different story, and 4 would be closer to the price of a loaded btl, and around the same box size

honestly, cone area is becoming irrelevant lately...

Been competing.. i've seen plenty of designs where cone area isn't the key.

If you disregard installation and design, motor force and power is what's left.

Even for those who don't compete, pressure is pressure. It's how much of a difference can be heard?

Typically, a 3db change can be heard.

I strongly believe a 15" btl in the proper daily tuned box will perform greatly over 3 8s.

I have nothing against the sa's, i would just go the btl route.

When running multiple subs, you start getting into phasing and while 99% of people don't fool around with this area.. you'd be surprised how multi sub setups can get complicated.

I look into the nitty gritty side of things from a competitive side.

I just believe there's more potential there with a 15.

Now, that depends on how far the user wants to go to get it installed in an efficient design.
