Posted March 25, 201015 yr Hi All,I found this site while searching google about a battery issue I am having.... So i joined.I live in Nova Scotia Canada and I drive a 07 Monte Carlo LS.
March 25, 201015 yr Author On all late model GMs they have this rediculous sensor that is wrapped around your Starter and Alt wires at the battery it sences amperage and voltage and when it goes above or below a certain set range it tosses a error on the dash "Battery Saver Active" this only seems to happen when I connect my 1/0 from my alternator to my Battery. When I remove the cable its fine.
March 26, 201015 yr by the way I love Monte Carlos, all the versions of them. I never seen that before and worked on a Monte Carlo a few weeks ago, hope you can get this issue resolved.
March 26, 201015 yr Author Yea is pretty well messed up. From what I can read form other people is that this sensor has to be moved or tricked to read the right voltage or amperage. Thanks for the comments fellas. I will post pics of the build once I get home.
March 26, 201015 yr Welcome to SSA. I am VERY interested in this sensor you are having issues with. As you stated you can probably trick it to work but without understanding that particular system I can't help. I recommend you call your local(or any that will help) Dealers CERTIFIED Tech and talk to them. THIS will probably atleast explain "HOW" the system works and they might even know an easy fix. Also I suggest starting a topic in the HU/electric or general Section about your problem as more ppl will see it there. Don't forget to read the "before posting" topic to get the best help.
