hi all. i have a bl 12 at dual 2 hooked up to a kicker 1500zx mono amp. its all hooked up correctly yet when i turn my car on the amp goes straight to protection.

any thoughts on why it might be doing this?

the only two problems i can think of is that my inline is a few volts low of the requierments, or the fact that i have 4 gauge wire and might need 0 gauge?

the volts from the battery are only short by about .5 volts.

any input or advice would be well appreciated!!!

Your title says your at 2 ohms, then your post reads dual 2 ohms. Hopefully you have a D1 BL wired in series to 2 ohms:

sorry i haave a dual 2 bl and the amp is 2 ohm stable...

could it be that my subs wired wrong?

im kind of a noob at this stuff :/

If you have your sub wired like this then yes it is an issue:

Wire your sub like this until you can get a 1 ohm stable amp that will push the BL:

alright will do!! thank you for the help!! :fing34:

Not a problem, if you need any other help or if you're unsure of something come here and post.

Yup, I bet you have it wired too low for that amp.

YOu need dual 1 coils or 1ohm stable power.

Yep, you got the wrong coils on the sub I'm afraid. You'll only be sending the sub 750 watts with the coils wired in series.

Yea exactly julian, so if I have dual 2 on my sub shouldn't I be able to get the full 1500 since the amp is at 2 ohms?

no because a d2 sub can ONLY be wired at 1 or 4 ohm.

To run it at 2 ohms, u would need 2 amps, one ran to EACH coil.

I'd only recommend doin that for burps but i know that's not your intentions.

A dual 1 or Dual 4 ohm sub is what's needed for 2 ohm wiring with that amp for max safe output.
