April 28, 201015 yr Author thats what i was thinking to but i just didnt know if you do that or put it to the batt and the reason i said radio is just because i heard that somewhere but thought that couldn't be right.
April 28, 201015 yr well thikn about it like this!the batteries are hooked up in parrellel to each other so they share the SAME voltage! and since the amp is hooked up also in parellel to the battery(s) (positive to positive negitive to negative) then whatever the voltage is at the battery terminals will also be at the amp!I hooked mine up to the rear battery b/c it was easier then hooking it up to the front battery.
April 28, 201015 yr Author i dont have a second batt yet so your saying hook it up to the starter batt?
April 28, 201015 yr Author I have mine hooked up to the amp. Some people hook it up to the batts though.so i would think you have the power wire from the meter just ran into the power wire (with the power wire) terminal on the amp? is that correct?

April 28, 201015 yr also PLEASE PLEASE don't forget to calibrate/ set the voltmeter before use!you do this with a dmm and removing the front cover to reviel a yellow philips screw which can adjust the read out!
April 28, 201015 yr Author if i may askl how to you calibrate it ???? i have never had a volt meter before so all the info i can get will help me out
April 28, 201015 yr if i may askl how to you calibrate it ???? i have never had a volt meter before so all the info i can get will help me outwell if you are going to connect it to your amplifer then whip out a dmm and check the voltage coming out of your power and ground on the amp...then once you have the stinger volt meter all lit up pull of the front screen and there should be a little dial that you can turn...and bam match the stinger volt meter to the dmm
April 28, 201015 yr some people recommend putting tint over the display they say it is awfully bright.just saying from what i have read about them

April 28, 201015 yr i wired mine to my HU for me the voltage difference was a little over a tenth of a volt between the front and the rear. so just test it out and see if it differs that much, no need to run a huge run of wire for no reason

Putting a small piece of window tint to tame it down. Could double up if it needs to be darker.I bet a tint shop would give you a couple of scraps. They are VERY bright to the point of being a distraction at night.I am going to try to get me some tint for mine tomorrow!

With little current draw it won't make much of a difference, with large current draw it will if your batteries are in the rear.
April 30, 201015 yr how long are the wires on the volt meters?I could be wrong but I think there only a few inches.
