Posted June 17, 201015 yr The Z v.2 woofers are back in stock.There have been a few revisions made :1) The top shorting ring has been removed -- but the internal ring was upgraded from aluminum to copper.2) The coil windings changed from 4-layer flat aluminum to 4-layer round bifilar copper -- this lowers Fs a bit and I tested no loss in efficiency at lower power and a small gain at high power. Coil is a bit more robust than the aluminum was as well due to additional mass. Copper also has a lower thermal expansion to accommodate the Z v.2 tight gap. All in all it makes the driver more tolerant to abuse.---We still have the 4-layer flat aluminum coils to match other subs on re-cones... also, the motors can be mixed as the shorting ring material change is not a huge difference.
