Ok, I have a fosgate t bd 1000 and I am ready to trade in my t1 for an fi. The birth certificate reads 1674 watts @ 1 ohm,

and I believe that is true to the fullest. My gain is a hair over half way and the t1 is stiff and on the brink of freezing up. I

would like to know which fi sub can I get the most performance out of off my amp. I plan to utilize the same enclosure

which is 2.5 cubic ft and tuned to 37 hz. If not satisfied with the enclosure I will replace it with the recommended tech

specs. Which sub would be the best match for the amp. I like it low and loud.

You'll blow a Fi sub just like your T1 if you treat it the same way.

Are you kidding me? Gain half way and under 2000 watts. Tech specs: under 2000 watts for an fi bl. I figure I can unleash a little bit more power out this amp at three quarters on the gain. I am going easy on

this t1. There is no way i'm abusing the system. I recall back in the day when I had a power 800 a 2 running two hx2's and watching the excursing stretch the rubber FLAT! i beat those subs up every day and

had no problem. The gain was a hair from all the way up. You seriously believe that my t 1000 can blow up an fi bl. Please tell me they are tougher than that.

Well with a dumbass like you behind the volume knob, no they aren't that tough.

You are clipping the signal which is why the T1 is messing up, if you clip the signal to an Fi it will have the same result.

And the gain isn't a volume knob, it is meant to match the input voltage of the amp to the output voltage of the radio's RCA's. So more then likely, after 1/2 gain, all your doing is clipping the signal harder and harder.

If the gain was down any lower, then i would hear little to nothing. Gain halfway on amp, gain halfway on head unit, no bass remote

Wow, that says a lot.

With 2.5 volt output on headunit vs 4 volt output on another headunit, gain at half way is way different with the same amp. search on how to set the gains first. O and not to bust your bubble but even though the birthsheet says 1600 whatever, it doesn't mean shit for your amp. Birthsheets are thrown in with amps and only like 1 out of 100 amps is actually tested for rating.

BUT it sounds like you would be best to get a BL

Statements like this are why people are reluctant to help. The reason why is because this statement shows us that you do not fully understand the way everything works and interacts. You are damn lucky those HX2's lasted any time at all. I don't know any specifics about that particular equipment, but I'd say it was dumb luck the combination of amp, subs and enclosure allowed you to do that to those subs. I agree with everyone else that your current sub is showing problems due to incorrect gain settings and operation and if you don't heed our warnings and follow our advice on setting the gains and such then you'll end up with a blown BL and blaming Fi for an inferior product when it had nothing to do with their product. Fi does build their subs to take some abuse, more so than some and less than others like about any other company. At any rate, I'd recommend at the LEAST a fully loaded BL and for your seeming taste in listening volume a BTL may be more up your alley. A BTL will be louder than a BL in the same given application on the same amount of power. You could upgrade your amp and electrical later down the road with a BTL to possibly get a little bit louder. Either way I'd recommend getting more familiar with the setup and implimentation of your equipment before you make some very costly mistakes. It's obvious you're asking too much from the single sub setup you're running right now, if space is your restriction then I'd recommend going with multiple smaller subs to get the output you're wanting.
