My brother just bought a ssa xcon 18 an a audioque 2200 watt amp, can anybody suggest a second battery cheap in price but will do the job?

The car is a 2009 dodge charger and the stock alt is 160 amp..Thanks for any help. :peepwall:

As with everything else in this hobby, you gotta watch just how cheap you buy something. Things are cheap for a reason, and usually it's not a helpful reason. At any rate, I'd recommend Deka Intimidator batteries. They're not as expensive as a lot of other batteries out there but they have pretty much proven themselves as performers. A 9A31 or group 31 battery is the best way to go if you can find the room to fit it. There's some rebadged Deka's out there being sold with another name on them at a little cheaper price but I can't ever remember who it is that has them. Hopefully someone else can help out with that.

Just make sure it is a sealed battery if you are going to be mounting it in the trunk/passanger compartment, as a lead batt will vent toxic gases as its being charged. Which is bad.:)

He has room for an 18 in his charger wow that is awesome I didn't know they had that big of a trunk

Make sure he does a build log

As for a cheap battery deka is what I would go with or even some batcaps 2000 or a kinetik hc2400 ( I think there price has dropped)

Go to Walmart and buy the biggest bastard they have. Will be around $100 and pretty much identical in overall system performance to any of the batteries mentioned... It is just bigger and heavier...

I bought 8 of the big ass yellow ones they used to sell a few years ago.... They worked just fine....

I don't think any of those Wal-Mart batteries are AGM. Or sealed even.
