Posted August 6, 201015 yr Ok i m trying to get the best box i can for my tens i have been going back and forth on size and tuning. I just read the new thread saying about 1 cube would be good if you plan on pushing the subs i will be putting about 825 watts throu these for 10s. I thinking 35htz tuning. Should i aim for the 4 cubes or 1 cube a piece? low ? higher ? wats the displacement on these subs ? thanks
August 7, 201015 yr Since you are going to run 4 SA-10 drivers I would say make a 5 cu ft. NET box tuned to 30-32 with 14-16 sq in of port area per cube. In order to give you any better idea of what box you should build I need more details about you needs and wants... For example if you are more of an SQ person then I would recommend LESS port area or a sealed box and If you are going to compete I would raise tuning a lil bit. If you do decide to build a larger box PLEASE set your SSF correctly to make sure you do not mechanically damage these subs. (You should be ok thermally with the power you are going to put to them though) Not too sure about the displacement on these subs you will have to wait for Jacob to chime in on that one... Probably about .11 cubic feet though...
August 7, 201015 yr Author sorry i was in a bit of a rush when i made the post lol I am looking for sound but loud thats why i was going for 35htz and i was going to run 3 4in flared ports my ssf is fixed at 28htz i am running rocford fosgate 2500.1bd
August 7, 201015 yr Well I'm going to be running 2 sa10's off my saz1500d at 1 ohm. Jacob told me to put them in 2.5 cu ft net with 40 sq in of port. I'll check what he said displacement was. I think it was .14. I've heard that you set your ssf 5 hz below tuning. So maybe you'd be safer with a box tuning of 33hz? 3-4" ports is only 37 sq in of port area. That would be optimal for 2 subs. But really small for 4. Edited August 7, 201015 yr by hondakilla98
August 8, 201015 yr Author I hear running lots of port makes the respone really peaky and i want a daily box just looking for a loud daily setup i had a fi btl fully loaded so has to be louder than that lol more cone area same power
August 8, 201015 yr Author running 15in of port per cube would mean running 6 4 in ports at like 31in long which wont fit in the box lol
August 8, 201015 yr Author Can someone please help me design a box lol i am so confusedI want the subs and ports firing up this is going in a dodge ram quad cab with no rear seats so i can go 48 wide 18 deep 30 max height anyone wanna try thanks Edited August 8, 201015 yr by VarinaBassing

Port area is completely different when you deal with aeroports :FYI: . Slot ports also add structural rigidity to the box as well.... Here is a quick box design that I came up with you probably can manage to fit all 4 subs facing up as long as you space them correctly.....
August 8, 201015 yr Author good suggestion i will go with that and see wat happens thanks i cant see the desgn
