so i got my 200amp alt from db and installed it and started up the car and hear this zzzzzzzz sound check the output with my dmm and reads 11.8v :suicide-santa: man what a joke

my experience wasnt that bad, works as they advertise.. just sucks at idle. they wont get anymore of my money thats for sure.

do you think it will put out at least a little more than a stock 105amp that puts out 65amps at idle ? bc they are sending me a new one

Had the same problem. Mine was putting out 12.8 volts at idle. Sent it back and they put a tiny pulley on it and said it was functioning fine now. Put it back in with a smaller belt and now I am at 13.3 volts at idle.v :suicide-santa: Never going to get anything from them again and they won't give me a refund.

yea my next one if the next one doesnt work im going to dc power

Was planning on a 220amp about a month ago and read to many reveiws about crappy output at idle, Mechman or DC for me!

most batteries rest at around 12.4 so your saying your alt is discharging your battery?

:suicide-santa: yes at rest my battery was 12.7 when i started the car the alternator droped the volts to 11.8 with nothing on in the car put the stock alt back in and its at 14.4v

My stock alt did that when it went out. Static battery was 12.6. With car on the battery read 11.7 and so did the alt? lol

you live and learn..i went through the same problem with alternators. It's such a shame these companies do this kind of shit. Everytime i hear someone talking about powerbastards i try my hardest to sway them away from that terrible company. :suicide-santa:

anyways what im trying to get at is even if you have to spend more money you will be more pleased with the product in the future

I went through the same problem but mine had a bad bearing to start. After that it went out in one day and stopped charging all together. Needless to say i returned it and demanded a full refund of the product which they did in a few days. They have great customer service and fast shipping but don't order an alternator from them nothing but bad stories. My DC xp230 will be here today as a replacement i know its gonna be good and do as advertised.
