well we built a wall, the amp is currently fairly far away form the subs, about 6 feet of speaker wire goes to each sub, we are currently using cheap 14 gauge speaker wire LOL, but we are pulling a 152.7@1800 watts clamped, my guess is we would gain quite a bit by changing out speaker wire, what would you guys recomend? there are 4 dd 1500 series 12" subs hooked up to a planet audio 3000 wired to half ohm in a wall. looking for the best speaker wire that will transfer the power most effectivly for the long 6 ft run.

IMHO 6ft really isn't that far, though the 14awg is probably still a little small I doubt it would make that much of a difference. If I had to recommend a wire though, Knukonceptz 10awg klear kable would be a good wire to use. 10awg would still be small enough not to be a pain to get in the terminals while being able to carry just about anything you could throw at it. the thing is im not worried about what i need, im worried about how to effectivly transfer ALL the power from the amp, like i said where peaking our score at 1800 watts clamped, we have 2000 watts clamped that we can have for our class, 200 watts might be worth a few tenths lol, but i want to be able to transfer all that power thats coming outta the amp. i would go ahead and assume im losing atleast 200 watts using the 14 gauge wire for 6 ft

Well there's always this, Click HERE. It's about as big as you can even fit in a speaker terminal. If you're just worried about minimum resistance possible this would be the way to go and the price isn't too shabby either.

Once you change your wire out, do your "Test" again and see if you actually pickup 200watts... and post back results

ok, what should i look for in quality speaker wire? is oxygen free needed? like what is in your guys mind the best speaker wire you can buy?

go with the knuconceptz like alton said quality product, minimal resistance, and since its 8ga u wont need to buy new wire if/when u getmore power

why wouldnt it gain? there ahs to be power loss on a distance that far, more actual power to the subs should gain.

Strand count doesn't really matter for anything other than flexibility.

As long as it's pure copper and properly sized wire for the stated gauge, it doesn't matter, wire is wire. Lamp cord from Home Depot will work exactly the same as speaker wire from Knu provided they are both copper and both the same gauge.

The gain would be minimal. If you are competing in SPL, you may see a tenth or two of a difference if you want from 14ga down to something like 8ga. Theoretically there is an inaudible but measurable difference.

so went to a show today and stepped into the shop and the shop owner was talking with me and he showed me this jl 8 gauge speaker wire kit, he only had one kit or i would have bough it from him right thne and there, but hes going to check on the ware house ot see if they have any extra laying around, but this is what im talking about:
