Posted September 24, 201014 yr Alright peeps its almost rebuild time in the work truck. If you dont know, im running 4 sa8s on a saz3k @1 ohm in 2.2 cubes @35 hz. it sound pretty loud but im just not satisfied. I want it louder.I have about 2.5 cubes to use but im limited to the 4 8s or 2 10s because of height restrictions. any suggestions??Im thinking maybe 2 Nightshade v2 10s on a saz3k or maybe even 6k if needed as i have a few saz3ks stashed away.Dose anyone make a louder 10 that would work in my space? im pretty sure i have the loudest 8s out there. any thought?
September 24, 201014 yr Author Dc lvl 5 10?Im not a big DC fan not i wont rule them out either. Any suggestions Duran?
September 24, 201014 yr go with the tens and sell my your eights no idea good luck man whatever ya do i will be looking forward to see what ya come up with
September 24, 201014 yr Dc lvl 5 10?Im not a big DC fan not i wont rule them out either. Any suggestions Duran? you might like a fi bl or q
September 24, 201014 yr the lvl5 10 may be too wide due to the bracket.IF anything DC, i'd vote Level 4 XL-SPL motored. That way u can run all the power u want to.

I want louder than my 4 sa8. The Q and BL are both great, I've had both. Neither are super loud.I'm looking for the loudest 10s out there in 2.5 cubes.

September 24, 201014 yr single sub should excel over 2 subs n that space even if powered by same power.
September 24, 201014 yr would fiber glassing a area help increase some airspace? i will try to look at your build too see if i can pick up some clues....chop
September 24, 201014 yr I agree with Shizzzon, a single 10" in optimal airspace with adequate port will excel over two choked 10's.
September 24, 201014 yr Author im ok with a single ten if that is whats loudest.i just find it hard to believe tha any one ten is going to be louder than my 4 8s i have now.
September 25, 201014 yr when u keep sayin loud.. i'm gonna keep sayin, because i'm DC biased, Dc Level4 XL with SPL motor. U can dump a few thousand to it since they have high rise.. it won't kill it. Don't worry bout power received, they are efficient. They are more efficient than the stock lvl5 motors are.U also have Nightshades too if they come in tens.
September 25, 201014 yr Author jacob said he can do 10s but i dont know air requirments atr any specs.
September 25, 201014 yr im ok with a single ten if that is whats loudest.i just find it hard to believe tha any one ten is going to be louder than my 4 8s i have now.Its not hard for a single 10" to be louder than your 4-8's, will it move the same amount of air maybe yes or maybe no. What tuning and any other information to help you make the decision on the right sub. I had 3-12"s kicker cvx underpowered and now I have one sundown zv.1 15" underpowered and the 15" is louder, it doesnt move the same amount of air but it gets louder though. Hope that helps.

September 25, 201014 yr yea the term efficient is loosely thrown around on high rise subs...It makes the electrical system real efficient.. but u need or want lots of power to take full advantage of them... So, not efficient on amp requirement or potential but efficient on battery requirement.
September 25, 201014 yr the lvl5 10 may be too wide due to the bracket.IF anything DC, i'd vote Level 4 XL-SPL motored. That way u can run all the power u want to.They made a mounting ring for the LVL 5 10 so it can be mounted with out a problem. And I would suggest the regular XL over the XL-SPL because there isn't as much cooling on the XL-SPL.
September 25, 201014 yr you know, i totally forgot if u cant choose between everything already listed, you always have Team PSI to go through.
