Hi,

I recently decided to upgrade my Type-R subs to 2 Sundown SA-12's (4 Ohm) for my SAZ-1500D amp and want to set them up as 1 Ohm and I have followed the diagram on the12-volt which is this: 2_4ohm_dvc_1ohm.gif

but my sub box has 2 wire terminals for each sub so what I did was for each sub - to - and + to + with the one + wire from the top coil and the - from bottom coil to the terminal and from the terminals to the amp to their -/+ and set jumpers on the amp as + to + and - to -, this should be ok right?

I had the Type-R's is the same fashion which worked fine but the SA-12's aren't pushing which is making me think I might have done something wrong in the wiring so if someone can please help, I am thankful.

Pre-fab box?

yeah, ported tuned at 32Hz

not sure what your doing off hand but it sounds okay...

basically if you put a 2ohm load on each terminal (since you have 2 terminals) then run the positive from each terminal to the amp and the negative of each terminal to the amp you will be okay.

you will be using all 4 outputs on the amp and since those outputs are hooked up in parallel it will drop your final ohm load to 1ohm! make sense?

also what is the cubic space in that box? and is the port a slot of areo port?

also what is the cubic space in that box? and is the port a slot of areo port?

the box was done for the Type-R specs which at max was 2.0 cubic feet for a ported box but I remember him telling me 1.75 cubic feet for each if that makes sense and its a big box for my 94 impala (basically took all the area where the full size spare goes) and it has slot ports.

wiring wise, thats what i pretty much did but with the exception of the jumper cable on the speaker connections of the amp going + to + and - to - unless the jumper cable isn't needed?

so you just jumped from coil to coil then to terminal then to amp?

ya that is cool.

be sure to use a DMM and check the resistance before putting it into the amp! make sure to have a 1ohm final load! if you do that you are good to go!
