This versatile amplifier is capable of producing power levels that can be used by both a serious competitor and the hardcore street enthusiast. Unlike other amplifiers on the market that have to be modified to reach competition power levels, the IA40.1 is a plug and play unit. No more cutting internals, modifying fuses, or splicing wires. This amplifier is also strappable, which means it can be "daisy chained" with another IA40.1 to produce even higher levels of power. For the street enthusiast, this amplifier produces enough power to supply either a pair of competition woofers, or a multiple subwoofer setup. Whether you are cruising down the road with your ground pounder, or you are like dB Drag Racing competitor Scottie Johnson and need a 3 second burp, this amplifier is for you.Digital Class-D Linkable Mono Block AmplifierExclusive Bullet Proof Technology LayeringDaisy-Chain Through Output RCA for Strapping1 Ohm Stable and 2 ohm stable when strappingDual MOS-FET PWM Power Supplies24 dB Low Pass (LPF) Crossover Variable - 30hz to 250hz24 dB Subsonic Filter Variable - 10 Hz - 70 Hz (with ON/OFF Selectable Switch)Selectable Switch for Master and Slave OperationMulti-Layer Protection - Speaker Short, Over Current, Thermal, and DC Protection CircuitLine Input and Master Output / Slave Inpute RCA ConnectorsHeavy Duty Copper Layer Double Sided Epoxy PCB0 Gauge Battery Input Connectors8 Gauge Speaker Output Connectors100% QC Testing and Warm UpEfficiency: 86% @ 4 ohms, 100hzTested Voltage & THD: 14.4 and Less Than 1% THD at 4 ohms RMS WattOperating Voltage: DC 10V ~ 16V Power InputDamping Factor: 350+ into 1 ohmInput Sensitivity 200mV to 6 VoltsRated Power Output RMS7200 watts at 2 ohms linked3600 watts at 1 ohm1800 watts at 2 ohms900 watts at 4 ohmsDimensions: 10.00" (W) x 3.07"(H) x 25.19"(L)

December 21, 201014 yr Author Admin IA says they are very under-rated. Pushing around 4500rms on 12v, and damn near 8k on 16v's!

January 25, 201114 yr Admin I know a bunch of people were looking forward to these, just waiting on them to jump on it.
January 25, 201114 yr Just curiousHow much power should I expect on 14.4v?I know at least for the 2006 model people claimed they were getting between 4-5k but you know how reliable that knowledge is lol. I would think at least 4k though, it's rated 3600 w @ 12v so it should be a little higher.Edit: Also Mark said 4500 rms on 12v and up to 8k on 16v, a lot of power basically lol Edited January 25, 201114 yr by ulrisa

Also, why under rate your amp SOOOO much if it can do much, much more than that? I understand maybe one or two hundreds

Also, why under rate your amp SOOOO much if it can do much, much more than that? I understand maybe one or two hundreds Take the Original 20.1, the ideal was supposedly a 2k RMS amp. But in reality would do from 2500 to 3k. When people got use to IA being a under rating amp company, producing anything close to posted specs would of been a big let down to a lot of people.Plus lower rating helps fit into a lower class if you compete. You know a "cheater" amp.
