Posted February 8, 201114 yr Well I ordered up some cable to do my next install (build log coming soon....hopefully) 4 days ago, UPS just dropped it off and 2 of the 3 lengths I ordered were not in the package. So I'm left here thinking and so I called the phone number from the website to try and figure it out. I did not get a human being right away but it only took 1 button press to get someone on the phone. A man answered promptly and I told him my package arrived and was 2 pcs. of cable short, he said he was very sorry and that the rest of my order would be shipped out today. No questions asked. I was satisfied and off the phone before the UPS man made it to the end of my block. Very nice guy on the phone and was very considerate. I will be doing more business with weldingsupply.com in the future and I urge you to do the same. Big for these guys.

February 11, 201114 yr Author UPS dropped off the other 2 pcs of wire a couple hours ago, just as promised. Very good customer service. I don't see myself buying power/ground cable from anyone else as long as Weldingsupply.com is in business.
February 12, 201114 yr When using Welding Cable for car audio remember it needs to be protected from oxidation and is not compatible with the AWG ratings if users do not know this, this poses a safety hazard. Welding cable usage for car audio, it's best to use 1 to 2 sizes larger than recommended. Welding cable is like CCA wire in terms of effective amp ratings and just like CCA wire, it needs to be protected from oxidation too. Also remember the ratings aren't at continues power! It's for welding.. not continues power.

I just never heard it before so I'm curious...
February 13, 201114 yr Author I've got some welding cable in the back of the truck with several inches of insulation missing, just bare braided copper hanging everywhere in several spots. It's been this way for about 5-6 years and gets rained, snowed, pissed on all the time and works as good now as the day it was purchased about 10 years ago. I don't think it's ever been out of the weather overnight. I do not know much about it oxidizing but even if it does, it does not affect the cable's ability to transfer current enough to cause worry imo.

February 22, 201114 yr Here is a great read on wire and it's application to car audio. If Welding wire follows the AWG rating then it should not suffer from voltage drop or any other problems stated in other posts.

Next time do some research with the info your given instead of posting thinking your right because of what someone told you. Do you use welding wire? No, so how can you comment if you have no in car experience with the wire like some of us who actually posted in here.
