Posted March 1, 201114 yr My mom said Ican buy it for a project car, it's a 1986 Nissan 300ZX, it has 184,000 miles and is a 5 speed.I had to get it towed to my house because it hasn't been ran in such a long time. The guy recommended I change the fluids, drain the tank, do a tune up and replcae the belt. The engine is a VG30E V6 motor.http://grannys.tripod.com/2N6VG30.html at the bottom are the specs I believeI believe it would be a bit harder to start a car that has been sitting for a period of 3-4 years, this is a type of thread, but thanks for your help!give me some support for a new project! March 1, 201114 yr Nice, you will be very happy when you get that thing running tip top. Very fun cars to drive.
March 1, 201114 yr Author thankss I plan to ask my oldest brother to help me out! He's been working on cars for 10 years now
March 1, 201114 yr Same engine in my car. I also recommend what the dude said. Swap out all fluids for sure and a tune-up. Then go from there.
March 1, 201114 yr Good luck man! FYI projects like this always cost way more than originally planned. I have seen more project cars deserted than competed.Post pics!
March 1, 201114 yr Gonna have to drain the gas tank, possibly even pull it so clean it out. Fuel gets really funky after it sits for a while and you don't want to be pumping that mess into the injectors any more than it already has. I would vote to get it to fire off and try to run( not for a long time, just enough to know you got something to work with) before you go dumping a lot of money into it.

Along with all belts. And expect some leaks from gaskets / seals / o-rings that could have dry rotted.Fuel that old will also give you headaches when starting.
March 1, 201114 yr Author Thanks guysm yfriend said those seals and gaskets would start to crack so i'm gonna try to fire her up soon before I do dump money into it lolxD
March 3, 201114 yr Author Ah, thanks to afterschool activities and recent money issues I have been filled with workAlso, my friend just switched his fuel injection motor into a fully carb'd motor, man. That thing is wicked.
March 7, 201114 yr Author Awesome looking ride bro ... Cool Find ... Thanks!! She needs a bit of a tune up and what not, but she'll be worth it!

And I bought a new dizzy rotor and spark plugs, man oh man does she pull hard as hell. She rides fantastic, with the exception of bad tie-rods, tires, and shocks.I couldn't ask for more considering it was only about 700$ to get a perfectly working car
