I have an Fi Q 15 in a sealed box in my trunk with 1000 watts, my buddy went out and bought a brand new system to be louder than me and with 2 12" type rs in a ported box, port for each sub not shared, and he had 500 watts going into each sub and his system still wasnt louder than mine, and mine was sealed!!

Two things suck here.

This guy is really smart, I did state the boxs, I said mine is sealed and his are ported, big deal if I didn't state the tuning of his box because mines sealed and its louder, and I dont care if its an old post, someone might be wondering the same thing and more input is better. And also my buddy didnt build the box, he just bought it, man your an idiot making assumptions like that, go hate on something else since your probly running some sonys and you just hate everybody with a better sound system than you, so you go on here trying to be cool, lol what a queer.

No I dont, im just stating my opinion and saying that my box was sealed so I wasnt going for spl and the Type Rs where ported and where going for SPL and the FI was louder. So it does help, its helps by 1 more opinion and yes I know he is a SSA Tech and he helps answer alot of thins but he shouldnt go saying peoples posts suck when they are stating an opinion, a sucky post is one that asks how much something costs or if its something you can easily research. The type Rs could be louder than the Q in the proper box but for the average person who is going to buy the sub then throw it in a pre-made box then the result is that the Q is louder. I built my box because it needed to be custom to fit in my trunk and I did not intend for SPL but I intended on SQ. Does that "help shit" for you, that if your running a pre-made box for the typer Rs then the Fi Q 15 will be louder.

You stated box types but not specs. I can take a cardboard box, seal it up, cut a hole in it and mount the driver. BAM, it's in a sealed box. I can cut a hole in it and throw a port in there. BAM, it's in a vented box. What information does that provide you? Nothing. By the way, equipment means little in the way of loudness. I could easily buy a set of $50 woofers and be louder than anything you could dream of. Your Fi sub could be made louder, the Type Rs can be made louder. Comparison's are pretty pointless in this industry as every application is different and application is the key to a positive experience.

The problem i see is that he believes one fi q 15 will always be louder than 2 type r's in a prefab ported enclosure

My buddy has a pair of type R 10s in the backseat of a dodge ram running about 650 watts each on a hifonics brutus. Nice battery supporting his electrical..sounds good the subs move..a lot. He just got a new job and bought a BL after his 2nd drink of the weekend since I was talking up Fi products. He will run that same 2 ohm load to a D1 BL and in the right enclosure I believe it will make incredible sound. I have an old Fi Q just coned it with a dual 2 on a mmats d300hc running about 700 watts to it in a sealed enclosure @ 4 ohm and it just what I need.. solid sound..not much current draw..love my amp..love Fi products....way to go guys.

When it comes down to high end Fi speakers..take their tech info and apply it as much as you can..when it comes down to it..its all about your amp, how much power it can supply efficiently, and your enclosure. Listen to Fi and their tech info, cannot stress it anymore...things will turn out louder than a pair of type Rs starting at their ssd series. You can make 8s sound like a pair of 12s if your passion is to work on your hookup

You should write it the other way as that is more likely the case here. Pretty easy to defeat 12's and make them sound less effective than 8's.

Again, the whole this is louder my dick is bigger bs argument is pathetic. So many variables are being left out and a sampling of one without trying anything to improve those installs is laughable and ignorant.

Your hookup is what you make it. There's an intrinsic value to your hookup, electrical, wiring..exc..just because you're louder doesn't make your hookup better..most everyone on these forums asking for help are daily drivers with hookups that work for them I wouuld say. Sharing your opinion and knowledge would be appreciated not your emotional break down..

the way i look at it is, everyone on here is a person. every person has an attitude, a set of beliefs, and a certain amount of knowledge.

and on top of that, everyone has an opinion. on everything. never fails.

the sharing of said opinion should never be frowned upon. picked apart, torn down, changed... fine. but not made fun of, or "bashed".

many of you run a business. speak on here as you would speak to a customer in your shop. telling people they're stupid and wrong wont make them want to listen. yes, there are too many variables to have a specific answer. therefore, list possibilities..

the BL "could" end up louder. its a high quality sub, and many have seen fantastic results out of it. the type Rs could get loud too. there are quite a few people that have put up some amazing numbers with type Rs. in my "opinion" they sound like a goat getting screwed by a wild boar, but hey.. to each their own.
