Gotta use deck screws, you probably knew that I've seen drywall screws break, but not back out? Also, using MDF, I guess I could see the wood not holding the screw anymore. Say for example if you used the same hole more than one time, MDF doesn't like that. But Birch, drywall screws, I'm not picturing screws "backing out".

I could see that happening.Hmm...The force of the speaker playing plus it's weight pulled the screw out? He had them facing up at first and we flipped the box around and it...sploded lol.(PS. He was scared as shit lol. He thought he blew it...funny ish.)

That happens alot, or atleast that I have seen in other installs, once in my own. It is easy to do. Drywall screws just do not have enough bite to begin with.
