Posted June 6, 201114 yr Ok, so I have power limitations. So could I be able to get good sound from any subs in this site with that power or I just wasting my time and money? I'm better buying Kicker, MTX, Cerwin Vega or something like that?
June 6, 201114 yr What are your "power limitations"? How much power do you have to work with? And do you have any space limitations? What is your budget? And if you already have an amp, what amp are you using?
June 6, 201114 yr There is a wide range of manufacturers available on this forum that can be purchased through the SSA store. With this broad selection you will be able to find a subwoofer that suits your needs.Impious asked you some very important questions that will allow us to help you Good luck
June 6, 201114 yr Author Hi guys. My car is a94 Corolla so I think I could not go more that 2.5 cuft ported. My amp is a Soundstream Rubicon 400 wrms at 2 ohms. My budget, well, I want to sell my existing 15" sub box for paying my new box. So the olny thing I need to "search" money for is the sub. I'm not going to pay more than $250 for 1 12".

June 6, 201114 yr Author Yes. The only think I want to know is that 400 wrms from the Rubicon, would be enough power for the entry level subs like( and is a damn example IA 187)? I want to know is they need more that that to sound decent. And I want to go ported.
June 6, 201114 yr The RMS rating has absolutely nothing to do with output. There isn't such a thing as underpowering.Buy whatever sub you think will be the best quality you can afford.Case in point, you could buy a BTL from FI and it is rated at much more than 100 watts. It will be louder on your 400 watts than any of the "entry level" subs you listed... This is just an example, don't take this as an end all statement....Don't make an issue of power handling.... Because it isn't remotely a power requirement....

I'm better buying Kicker, MTX, Cerwin Vega or something like that?Cygnus didnt you already make this same exact post a few weeks ago and didnt we give you every option that would work with your amp? If you dont want to take anyones advise then why ask again? we went through this with you that a 12" sub would work alot better in a 2.5 cuft box then a 15 in a waay too small of a box. If your going to ask for help then take the advise that people give you. These people here at SSA are very knowledgable and will help you out as much as they can, as far as kicker and mtx, the subs they list for you will destroy them in any and every way. Keep that in mind and goodluck to you
