Definitely amazing pics.. I am looking to buy a D5100 before my next vacation... I do have some pictures taken with a Canon rebel, standard lense, using film.

Color Photo's

003_22.jpg

091_20.jpg

Black and white (using black and white film)

092_4A.jpg

093_3A.jpg

090_6A.jpg

None of these photo's were edited in any way, I have never had a photography class, and trust me, there were plenty of bad pictures taken too...

very awesome photos as usual Eric!

What are you using for glass these days?

J

Did you ever step up to the 7000 series or are you still using one of the 5000's? Im really leaning towards the 7 right now.

Amazing pictures. I've been toying with the idea of picking up a good camera for some time now, you may have pushed me over the edge. :)

Yes, I've had a 7100 for a few years now.

I recommend it. Shot in manual mode and learn how to alter your pictures based on aperture, iso and shutter speed. <--- the "big 3"

I shot with a Nikon D810. I have a variety of lenses including a 200-500mm. The D810 has high MP which allows me to crop as well.

Nice work.  Curious how you lined up the engine pic on the Honda...

That was a rig shot with remote control shutter release and two exposures. One exposure with hood open and another will hood closed. The car moved slowly during 1.6 second exposures to show motion. I edited the exposures in PS CC by stacking the hood closed image on top of the hood open image. Then I used a brush tool to paint black over the top image to expose the bottom image. Super easy.

My editing skills needs work, practice makes perfect!
